Ummm,, easy. Even if he'd never cheated before, I don't believe for a second he didn't know they were using the pads vs Mosley. It makes him a bigger coward and less of a man to let someone accept all responsibility and take all the blame for something he was clearly a part of. It takes a bigger man to accept his mistakes, than it does to take 12 rounds of punishment.

 

Maybe he was looking shitty during training camp ( a mere 5 months after the brutal Cotto fight mind you) and he and his camp decided to use the pads then? He was also struggling with weight. It isn't outrageous to think that he tried it out of desperation, is it?

 

Let's not forget 'Cotto hit's like a girl' so I doubt there was any damage to Margarito from that fight....unless he was lying (again) :think

Look at the Bulgers. Billy was a widely respected state senator. Whitey was a murdering thug.

Nobody blames Billy for Whitey's crimes. (although he copped some heat for allegedly having at least one communication with him while a fugitive and not altering the authorities...:conf)

 

Are you trying to make a legitimate point? Fighters are known for their bravado. He may not have been hurt enough to go down or stop fighting but Cotto definitely did some irreversible damage.

 

Problem with Margarito is he's soo deluded he doesn't even know he's full of ****, in the Pacquiao fight (according to HBO) he was telling his corner that Pacquiao had no power and that he couldn't hurt him, this was happening while Pacquiao was brutally re-arranging his face.

 

That is another reason for his quick decline. Pre-Cotto, he used to have a much tighter defense. I think he bought into his own hype concerning his chin and defense went out the window. I think he deluded himself into thinking couldn't be hurt. Nobody is arguing that he is super smart.

 

I knew something was up with this shady **** ever since he finished off Six Heads Lewis

 

Anyone who doesn't think Margarito loaded his gloves is a ****ing idiot, simple as that.

It's sickening to watch the first bout with Cotto now knowing he is a big cheating arsehole.

Makes watching Mosley, Pac and Cotto beat on his stupid face all the sweeter.

Margarito is a proven cheat. He is a disgrace that should be permanently banned from the sport. Your going to have a difficult time finding people to agree with your perverted version of reality.

 

I doubt your really dumb enough to believe a fighter could have plaster on his wraps and not know about it. Stop playing dumb and admit your ok with a fighter cheating as long as he is a Mexican you support.

 

There's a reason Margarito was never convicted of anything by the police. If they could have made a case, they would have but it would be impossible. Is it likely Margarito knew? Nobody can answer that. Did Margarito certainly know? No, he didn't and it'd be foolish to say so.

There have been many trainers who cheated on behalf of their fighters without the fighter knowing. A prime example being Aaron Pryor. Do I think Pryor was a cheat? No and very few people do. Do I think the bottle from the Arguello fight had anti-histamines in? Yeah, I do.

Is it possible Margarito was genuinely not aware? Yes it is. For that reason, I can't blame him and nor should anyone else.
