realistically, margarito probably used the pads against cotto. the red stain on the pad is pretty solid evidence. furthermore, it's highly improbable that when he got caught against mosley it was the very first time that he had cheated or tried to cheat. that said, i really don't think the pad would make such a big difference in punching power. it did however boost his confidence. anyways, he was suspended for a year, paid a hefty fine and a question mark has been placed over all his big victories. isnt he entitled to a second chance? it's not like he removed padding from the glove or anything.

Anything on or between the pads/handwraps will make your punches harder and yes I believe in second chances. I mean, it is over and water under the bridge. I just don't buy that Marg is shot so that is the reason he just lost. Cotto took a beaten by Pac and Marg yet he came on top of Marg. I mean, Marg and his handlers did not think to believe on what Cotto needed to adjust to beat Marg. I'm sure they have read all that Cotto had to do to have won the first fight and here the second fight comes and trys the same tactics as the first fight. I don't remember Marg ever having a good fight at 154 so I would give him a couple of Garcia type fights to really get use to 154 and then fight someone like Angulo. If his eye holds up, I believe he has a few fights left.

i dont think that margarito's shot either. cotto was beating him but the doctor made the stoppage. cotto never hurt him and margarito kept coming forward. let me remind you that in their first fight margarito stopped cotto in the 11th round. up until that point cotto had been fighting pretty well and connecting with monster shots. 3 rounds is a lot and if u cant block punches effectively they do a lot more damage than they normally would. if margarito's eye had held up, who knows what might have happened. cotto was losing steam quickly.
