This content is protected Here's a perfect example where I see Floyd getting caught against Pac. Pac lunges in Floyd moves straight backward instead of to the side (bad habit of his). Pac feints him, Floyd freezes up, Pac moves in behind a combo, Floyd dips his head down like he always does, and BOOM . Nap time.
Bad example. Mosley doesn't even come close to having the timing and reflexes that Floyd has. Also Mosley isn't throwing anything in that ring against Manny. Floyd will be throwing a crisp quick jab to offset Manny's rhythm and Floyd has faster feet than Mosley as well. You need to come with something better than that Gander.
Roach is being real about this threat and all it entails. He knows how good Floyd is. This is good. I also have the feeling they've been studying Floyd for years during and/or in-between camps since 2010. They better have been. And as I've always said, Marquez and Floyd are very dissimilar.
Not a bad example at all. I've seen Floyd show the same behavior in similar siuations like that time and time again. He's so prone to backing straight up and he falls for feints all the time.
mosley showed no signs of countering back at all, i was more surprised that pac couldnt cut off the ring vs oldy mosley
He didnt counter cus Pac feinted his ass and froze him up. Floyd's just as hesistant as Mosley is about coutnering anyway. It's easy to get him to lock up and plant his feet just by being aggressive, basically.
It's not the best example because of the stylistic and physical differences between Floyd and Shane at this point, but it does have merit; as Mosley is anchored on the back-foot moving back, as Floyd often is, Pacquiao can stick his lead foot outside of Mosley's and fit his left into that zone where Money's head is due to his angled stance and high center of gravity. Floyd's not gonna get caught too many times with the same punch, but stepping outside (or unexpectedly inside) that lead foot on a back-pedaling opponent opens up different opportunities downstairs and upstairs. Mosley starting to skid and shift nervously to the left consistently is what made Pacquiao look bad and offensively limited (and perhaps gave the cramping phenomenon some merit since it was mentioned in JMM 2 and 3 as well). Backing up in a straight line however will be more problematic when facing Pacquiao without a doubt.
Floyd can't be beaten by being outboxed. Let me repeat, you cannot outbox Floyd. The only way to beat Floyd is to hurt him and rough him up. Hatton had the right idea and was doing a good job, he just didn't have the chin or a good trainer but he had the right idea. You rush in, you throw volume punches, you grab and hold when he tries to counter. The way to beat a superior boxer is to out fight him. You don't try to outbox the best boxer in boxing and one of the best technical boxers if not the best who ever did it. You have to go to break them down over 12 rounds.
You say that yet Floyd keeps winning easily. You really do underestimate Floyd. See you don't listen. Floyd does what he has to do in that ring. What happens if Floyd comes out and starts giving Manny movement opposed to walking him down or standing in front of him? Then what does Manny do? Floyd told us all that he would walk Ortiz and Mosley down bc he doesn't have to move against them. Doesn't mean he still can't give that great movement that he use to give opponents. Plus Floyd has better foot work than Manny by a mile as well.
