I don't know why the fight was turned down in the first place. Two six footers, Paul Williams everyone knows what he brings + a guy who KTFO Kirkland in sixty seconds, HBO should have accepted it (I assume Lara came at a higher price too).
That guy was a last minute (< 24 hours, I think) replacement for this guy: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=51741 It may have been better to just not bother competing that day than to accept such a severe downgrade in opponent. :conf
So you agree he got robbed against Alvarez? I've actually heard that the Crazy Kim rematch in '04 was a robbery as well. Possibly both losses to Kim. (which would mean he hasn't been legitimately beaten going back almost a whole decade).
