Discuss: The Most 'Limited' ATG Ever?

These "most"/ "best" type threads usually end up with people pot shoting suggestions for discussion rather than trying to get the number 1 answer every time.

Yep, surprised you remembered. I didnt I just like shouting out my man Oguma.

 

Even if this were true and a serious suggestion, Duran is the most complete and skilled fighter ever, so wouldn't count ;-)

Can anyone come up with a serious shout?!? I want to debate!

Do I need to go through my top 100 and see who is the most limited out of all of 'em?

 

Monzon- You look at him and kind of see nothing special. If you didn't know any better you'd call him ordinary. But he was so deceptively effective. Kind of like a middlweight Wlad with more moxie and killer instinct. Just something cloak and dagger about his work. He'd slaughter technically better guys who had better movement with cold distruction. You just think how did he do that?

I do it as well, although in this instance Saensak Muangsurin would actually be the best suggestion ever (100% true) but....he isn't 'great'.

But definitely the most limited top level fighter.

 

As i read post after post i was surprised no one had mentioned him. Just thinking about what to say then got to the last one and you covered it perfectly.

Recently Toney, is horribly flawed.

 

Yeh the irst Park fight is an execution, got the other 2 aint watched them yet, im surprised Park fought him thrice.

Got so many fights to wach and just dont have the time, and when I do my heads racing and i cant concentrate

 

Like Canto: by being a supremely composed ring general (completely different approaches of course)

Once Carlos was set in his rhythm his timing would steadily improve as the rounds progressed. Once he had you completely figured out you were in for a World of hurt, such a bludgeoning puncher and unnervingly accurate.

 

I had that problem but I found a solution: on Sunday, pick what/who you're watching next. Focus on them even of you want to move onto something different. Get it out of the way. Then move on.

I've got f'n **** loads to watch. Biggest problem is settling on a pick each week ;-)

 

Relies on his opponent coming straight at him and throwing. No feet. But probably not an 'ATG' (debatable but I would say not, certainly an old timer and a natural fighter)

 

I think Pacquiao might be a fair shout here.

In comparison to the kind of fighters ten places either side of him on a fairish list, he does have limitations.

Fairly easy to frustrate, has been outboxed on probably half a dozen or more occasions for prolonged periods and has flaws that could perhaps be exposed by lesser fighters than the likes of Marquez, and obtain results corruption/blindness aside.

 

Yeah. He just methodically went about his work. Everything was with full conviction and purpose, he was controlled, patient and ruthless.

He controlled range well, that was his biggest technical strength for me. He set up his punches very well, even though he was so upright and rigid. He never got flustered and let his opponent gain any confidence. Awesome temperament in that squared circle. Pure killer!

Gotta slightly disagree with Canto though.
