Which stopage was more legitimate: Lewis vs Vitaly ... Cotto vs Margo?

Vitali was pretty gashed up, and from the butt to the lace scrape followed by the OH R, the first cut was inevitable. Lewis, being a smart fighter utilized his cornrows on the inside as oft as he could, and used his ATG jab to really pepper that side of the face. When he first opened it in the 3rd, it was his only chance of escaping the fight on his feet, and he played a wise game. That said, Vitali has little actual vision loss due to the cuts, but as their were 3-4, all in the same area, it was a legit stoppage.


As for Margs......he was blind from at least the 5th, and the docs gave him not only 1 more round, but more like 4-5 more round. Cotto was slipping most everything he threw, then countering with peppering hooks to that eye. Also a wise game plan once that eye was closed.

Margs has no possible route to victory, great stoppage.

Vitali would have likely RTDd Lewis had the ref chose to allow them to fight on. After the 5th, the look on Lennox eyes coming out for the sixth was...."Please get him out of here, I can't handle another round of abuse." He hit the lottery when they called it. PERIOD.:deal

With Vitali it was really a close call. A little bit more and his career would have been over. Lewis cut into his muscles really bad.
Margarito had a swollen eye and a cut. His eye swell up really fast.
I dont really know. Im going with Lewis Vitali.

 

they should have stopped LL v Big earlier and Margo should have never been allowed in the ring (for more than one reason)

His cut wasnt as bad. Vitalis cut was so bad that a little bit more and there would have been a chunk missing from his eye.

 

Woulda, coulda..you can't stop fights based on that assumption. Hell, this is a sport where the next punch,..any punch could end a man's life. The fact is that in Vitali's case the fight stopped because the doctor concluded his vision was impaired and was at risk, regardless of how close the fight was.

But Roy Jones was allowed to continue when there is blood gushing in his eye to the point its closed and he clearly CAN'T SEE, while losing in lopsided fashion with no hope of winning. No idea why the doctor kept giving him the go ahead, even as Jones was saying "I can't see!" if I remember correctly.

Margarito: just a bad history of the right eye and the present beating just made it worse

 

After the 8th Margaret begged for another round they gave it to him which supposedly was his best round...though he still got starched.

It was a shutout what was the point in allowing the dirty ******* to just take more punishment?

If it was up to me I would've allowed fight to continue so Margaret could get his ass stretched out for his full comupence!!!

 

Lewis cut Vitali with a thumb.It wasn't a legal punch. They could have stopped the fight right there for NC. They let them fight hoping that Lewis would exploit the cut but Vitali was keep beating his ass. The stoppage was legit the outcome was not. The ref was on the side of the punch so he could not see ****. With instant replay Vitali would have got it.

The fight was stopped because of the cut above the eye. Read the f-king rules.

 

Vitali, I wouldnt have minded seeing the Cotto fight go on it wasnt nearly as bad as Vitali's

 

I watched this fight at least 10 times, Vitali was ahead and stoppage was fair, and cuts were from punches seriously get over it!
