Fury must have watched this fight....won't answer Rodriguez calls

Dyer is a HUGE, Valuev-esque type upncomer, at least he WAS until he met el Nino 3 yrs ago.

With similar size and build as Fury, along with similar handspeed and power, Dyer was all but ENDED by Rodriguez, only retiring after Manny Quezada finished what el Nino started.

Rodriguez is desperately seeking a big name to bring him into contention at this sunset stage of his career. Will Fury answer the phone? Arreola? Or will David only get a big fight when Vitali calls on him to challenge for the title?:-(

 

He's got a perfect record of 36-0 34KOs and his best wins are ending Dyer, KOing Beck in impressive fashion, destroying Manny Pucheta like no other has done, but he literally can't get a name into the ring with him.

Like Seth Mitchell, he's gone through the Cclass and the journeymen with ease. MOF, historic ease. Now owns the highest KO% in history, and has shattered Tyson's records as well. But, that's the Cclass.

He's been trying to get the bigger fights, but not even the Bclass guys like Meehan, Rahman, or Banks will respond to his challenges.

Back in Sept when Banks was scheduled to fight on the Vitali UC vs a top 50 HW who backed out on 14 days notice, Banks chose Ivica Bacurin over Rodriguez who was willing to take it on short notice just to be seen.:-(

 

I heard that Ortiz mentioned his name, but what were the details.....link please? Team Rodriguez would be happy to take that fight and Solis as well, but do you seriously think Solis would risk his lofty position to be KTFO by the Mexican. NOT!:deal

Ortiz vs Rodriguez though does have a good ring to it. Show me some details please.

 

Here's video of him winning the vacant NABU HW titles last w/e in New Mexico. His opponent, a tough but Solis-like Byron Polley was no match for the speed or power of el Nino who stormed him as usual from the opening Stanza.

Polley has been beaten recently by Ustinov and Welliver as well as a few Cclass fighters too. But he's solid in terms of his own power, but like Matt Greer, brings a little too much around the waste in the ring to avoid big shots from bog punchers.

Boystov is another fighter Rodriguez would fare well against.:deal

 

He tried stepping up in 08 but had promoter problems. Then, he began his own company and teams up with Zeferino out of Vegas(Kingman AZ). They got him the Pucheta, Bispo, Beck and Davis fights. Seems they have gotten him in line for these minor titles, the NABU, and the WBC Latino belt(Fecombox) but they don't have the $$$ to get Arreola or Meehan or another vet in there.

Arreola couldn't have earned much fighting Butler, Quezada, or the other Cclass guys he's fought since losing to Adamek.....a tune up or comeback fight is one thing, but 6 consecutive, and all since he was called out by Welliver and Rodriguez.

As for the Fury and Boystov bouts, yes, Rodriguez would relish the opportunity, but those guys either seem content on fighting the Firthas and the Greers and fight fans overlook their ducking of legitimate fringe contenders like Rodriguez for whichever reason, calling Rodriguez a bumfighter while praising Boystov for fighting in the same class.:huh:-(

 

Fury's best win was against Chisora who was drunk for 6 straight months before the fight, alledgely doing all sorts of drugs, and OBVIOUSLY not training for the biggest fight of his life.

The Chisora that just fought Helenius is the 4th best HW on the planet and stops Fury inside 3 rounds maximum. Can't even say Wlad and Vitali would have an easy nights work with that beast.

 

He takes a big shot, solid beard....excellent body puncher which is rare for a bigman....and has one punch KO power unlike Fury, DelBoy and many other top 50 HWs.

His biggest detractor is his willingness to trade, and FFS, isn't that what the HW division is lacking.:admin
