Yeah, if anything Hearns can be criticized for throwing out his natural ability to engage in slugfests as he did with Hagler.
Also in the "war" with Hagler, had he not broke his hand in the first round, he may have stopped him too... Hes an all time great IMO
Here we go,mention a fighter from over 20 years ago and they are invincible and punch harder than sledgehammers that fighters today simply woyldnt be able to survive, pac is greater
This isn't your best troll thread madmanc. You've been slipping since your legendary sugar rat one. Maybe you just had a short prime? :think
The guys a troll, can't believe people still take his threads seriously. Just because he doesn't continually produce troll threads on May and Pac, doesn't mean he's not a troll. :-(
is putting your opinion accross trolling ?? people put fighters of the past on a pedastal, hearns was nothing special,he was good not great and once you got on the inside it was game over,i said hatton would be a nightmare for him last week and was laughed at,hearns wouldnt go 12 with hatton
hearns attacking arsenal is probably the best i've ever seen on a fighter but his chin was a disgrace, it was only tommys guts that got him through so many fights where he was doing the chicken dance.
well you can talk about his chin and it wasnt great but it wasnt pure glass either, the guys who stopped him, slr, hagler, and barley were far from feather fisted. his stamina and defense played a factor in his defeats as well. but overall, there was little hearns couldnt do, he could blast you with his power or box your ears off, far from limited.
Yeah, cos he wouldn't need to.10 should be ample to stop Ricky. Tommy's main flaw was balance. His punching prowess meant his wonderful boxing ability was overlooked till he moved up.I make no secret of the fact I'm a Leonard man but Tommy gave Ray fits, and it was only because Ray had one of the deepest wells in boxing history to go to that made the difference.Tommy had more boxing ability than any current fighter with the exception of Mayweather and for pure ability,I'm sure Hagler and Duran would say he had an edge over them. To suggest Tommy was limited is ludicrous.Amir Khan is doing fine and he has a weak chin.Take Amir's ability and multiply it by anything over 20 and you might get close to Tommy. No reflection on Khan, just good comparison because of the chin and if Tommy had better balance we might never have known about his chin. Sorry Manc,I used to think you had a humourous side but this ain't funny and if you think it's true then you need to hit Youtube for a few days.
yeah for good reason. Hatton with no headmovement whose only win at 147 was a gift is going to outmuscle and stop hearns on the inside. Mind you prime SRL stopped hearns after the 12th, at 147 but whatever.
:good Like no one, if it was 12 round fight clear UD for Hearns, i never felt sorry for i fighter like for Tommy after that fight. And answer to thread no he wasnt limited at all.
