I read a lot of comments that pacquiao is overrated and this and that fighter is greater than him. I was thinking if Pacquiao is that overrated, especially with all what he did in boxing puzzles me considerable. So, if Pac could do all these things beating the likes of cotto, marg, hatton, clottey, mosley, delahoya who are bigger fighters and stronger than him. How come it is only pac that did this kind of over rated boxing resume. If this task is so over rated, we should have seen more little guys achieving this recognition of beating bigger boxers than them. Some people here are saying that jmm is greater than pac when it comes to boxing. My question is, does jmm or other smaller guys could have beaten all these bigger guys the way pac did. I encourage people here in esb to voice their opinion and prove me wrong. Pac is a great fighter and that there is no one currently in boxing right now who came from 106 lbs, move up and dominate bigger, stronger and win like pac did.

They all had styles that fit perfectly for Pacquiao. He cherry picks who he faces.

    1. Cotto was fighting at 145 and post Margarito I.
    2. Margarito post Mosley.
    3. Hatton post Mayweather.
    4. Clottey just sucks.
    5. Mosley was old as ****.
    6. De La Hoya was old and was fighting at 147.

Like every fighter he is overrated by his hardcore fans. Underrated by many who see him as nothing but a no skilled brawler though

I believed that prior to the fight on most of these so called old, weight drain and past their prime people here especially on esb, most did not give pac any chance of beating them. I found that ironic.

Incredibly physical talent. In terms of skill and ring acumen he is overrated. He'd be a decent underdog against Floyd now.

For some reason people think Pacquiao's career started with Oscar.

He is overrated for those who think he is the best ever

With the exception of Oscar pacquiao was favored against every single one.

I don't believe so, I remember some people including the US media calling for this fight not to happen because of what might happen to pac if they fought. Even in the Philippines had all the concerns and trying to put a halt on the fight.

No mw is right when it comes to the odds, however boxing fans gave several boxers a very good chance to upset him, especially cotto.
There are plenty of fights where a is a big favourite but b is considered by boxing fans to have a great chance of winning, for example hopkins vs pascal 2, sergio vs pw 2, maidana vs khan, or montiel vs donaire.
Doesnt the winner deserve credit then?

When you got people claiming he is the GOAT or even the best of this generation then imo he IS overated.

No doubt he is an excellent fighter and an incredible athlete who can be very entertaining to watch (Hatton, Cotto etc)

But there are others I would put above him.

I'm still amazed that Pacquiao has pretty much cleaned out the welterweight. What amazed me the most is that he scared the **** out of Floyd Mayweather. There's no doubt that if Floyd wasn't scared of Manny he would take that fight in a heart beat, heck he would even let PAC use peds.

If anything his wins above 140 are but you don't beat two all time greats in Morales and Barrera and be overratted !

I think it was more hope than actual logic. Kind of like Margarito fans picking him to beat Cotto again.
