It was a close fight, nothing wrong with the ref imo. Because of the deductions I think the right guy won.
to be honest i had peterson winning even without those point deductions, really good fight anyway and many rounds could go either way, definitely not a robbery...
well, with so many refs out their breaking up fighters as soon as they get close makes it become the norme, so fighters get use to it and clinch as soon as they are in trouble. when u are put in the situation to not have the ref split u up it become serious trouble for boxers who like to hit and run because when u cant run because of pressure fighter....well your ****ed. cooper is not to blame, its more about the bad habits most refs are putting out there, making stuff like,( pushing, holding behind the head, bending bellow beltline and forearm in the face and of corse, the stiffarm,) regular boxing tactics. fighters get away with these tactics until they have a ref who inforces the rules... then u get the crying of robery because of the ref who did his job as he is suppose to.
The problem i had witht the ref was only warning khan didnt warn lamont for the headbutts, but peterson deserved some luck after the life he's lived
To be fair peterson should of been called up on his improper use of his elbow, this happen a few times but nothing like how Khan was fouling his way round the ring.. A different ref maybe a different out come because some refs seperate the boxers who engage on the inside which i think is completely wrong... Who said boxing should be fought at arms length, some people seem to want to reinvent the wheel...
Yeah Khan did get robbed .. It really did come down to those 2 pts that were deducted for pushing ..Shame because you hate to see that but its not like he did himself any favors by keeping Peterson in the fight .
this fight wasn't suppose to be close ,its like saying as long as kahn was standing after 12 rds he gets the victory. no robbery:happy:happy:happy
Could have went either way, great fight, yet again a singular lack of humility from khan as displayed after the prescott fight... his arrogance will be his undoing further down the line... ps. in trouble a couple of times during fight against a relatively light puncher... move up to welter will probably see him flattened
