Vitali will stop Haye , i'm sure of that. The guy is more accurate puncher than Wlad. Better defensively, harder to hit,, and will counter Haye with a knockout punch. Wlad's got a good jab, but the older brother throws punches in all types of angles. He isn't as predictable, and is better at setting up traps.
Vitali is more accurate? I'd say he is far more unorthodox and is more of a volume puncher than Wlad. I wouldn't say he is more accurate. Again, Kevin Johnson made Vitali miss all night. I see no reason why Vitali stops a defensive minded Haye.
vidic you are the best british poster here. your posts are always good. And you are right, your analysis is spot on. i' am a big kbro fan, but i also said from the beginning that haye has a way bigger shot against Vitali than against the faster, more powerful pure boxer who always fights the perfect fight named wlad. vitali became way slower, he is favored to beat haye but the fight will be 10 times better than the one against wlad because haye will be able to catch vitali quite often. vitali can knock haye out for sure but it will be a very good and competitve fight. and like you said wlad is imo better then vitali ever was. the thing is that wlad is with mayweather the only guy in the business, who has no emotions and just fights to win, he is not a fighter, he is boxer, who just wants to beat you with plan A, B, C or D. vitali has always a couple of gameplans but you can get him to throw all to the window and fight, he can become angry. wlad instead will just go on with his plan and gives a **** if you anger him or if you do something weiired. he will just win. Wlad is a boxing machine with the goal to win in any style which will allow him to win. thats why he became so incredible good.:deal
The only problems Vitali has are getting Haye in the ring and getting him to stand still instead of running. This is a total mismatch that we only want to see coz we want Haye ****ed up..... Then there are all the poms who think Haye can win.
Nice thread Vidic :bbb I just don't know what will happen in this fight, I mean Haye could do what you say but stepping in the ring with Vitali is always going to be an uphill battle.
People said Haye wouldn't fight Wlad, so I don't think he'll have a problem fighting Vitali And what do you mean "stand still instead od running"? Is he supposed to just be a sacrificial lamb like all the other Klit opponents? Just stand still and get jabbed to death until he's pummeled in the later rounds by the slow and plodding Minataur?
This is one of my few genuine gripes with the Wlad - Haye fight. The people moaning about Haye using foot and head movement in order not to be punched in the face. He showed more defensive awareness than just about any Klit opponent in recent memory - but just couldn't really amount any offence of his own due to Wlad's great defence/use of his size and control of range. It was a clash of style between two fighters who struggled to get their offence going because of their opponents defence, who were both also clearly wary of the other guys power.
I don't rate Wlad's defense that high. For me, it can only be called defense if it effective without halting offense. Wlad is so easily taken out of his offense. He jumps back with his arms in the air. He doesn't seem to want anything at all touching him. I can't believe noone has capitalized on the fact that he rarely blocks but instead jumps straight back.
You know, this is a criticism I've made a lot - and usually get shot down as hating It's why i said 'defence/use of size control of range'. Because he doesn't really use blocking, head movement or lateral movement - he just goes back. But I have to rate it highly, because he stop him getting hit. The thing I've said before is that Wlad is a two mode fighter - he's either being offensive of defensive - there is no transitory phase. When offensive he applies pressure, closing down the ring behind his jab. However, as soon as an opponent mounts an attack, he uses his feet to get well clear of danger and makes his smaller opponent fall short. But where going back in straight lines is dangerous for most fighters, Wlad's size means that his steps are substantially bigger than his opponents and it's easy for him to get out of range. Once out of range, Wlad 'resets' and goes back into offensive mode and presses behind the jab. But as long as he is going backwards and in defence, he does not contemplate throwing. This is one of the reasons I argued with Klit fans after the Haye fight. They said that the only reason there was no KO was because Haye was too cautious. I called bull****, because almost every time Haye did actually attack Wlad he ended up throwing wild amateurish punches, missing completely, falling off balance, leaving himself wide open and vulnerable. However, Wlad never tried to capitalise on this, and was only concerned with was getting out of range and resetting. I mean, it's not a huge knock on the guy, because he fights in a style that his opponents can't beat. However, can you imagine what a Marquez, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Ward, Khan, Donaire (basically any top fighter) would do with an opponent who kept falling in horribly off balance and leaving themselves vulnerable? Those are the fighters who get knocked out quick :bbb
It was an analogy, not a comparison... Wlad is not plodding, but he is not as fast as Haye, so many of his fans want Haye to abandon his speed advantage and allow Vitali to engage at will. Anything else and they will claim he didn't come to fight.
