Im not a fan of Khan. The bravado, the talking himself up prematurely.
But ive got to be honest and say he won that fight. Petersons aggression was so sloppy and evaded for much of the fight. Winging in overhand rights against the gloves for 8 rounds doesnt constitute effectiveness in my opinion. The only thing he suceeded in doing was tiring both Khan and himself. On the other hand even though Khan connected with far more success it was mainly pitter patter whilst on the move. But this is boxing and the boxer in there was certainly Khan.

Williams/Lara was untoppable...but are you serious? Youd really have to be a roach fan boy to pick amir last night. Peterson whipped that azz, and will do it again since im sure there will be a rematch.

Not read past the first post so i don't know if you're on the wind up or not but if not then 9-3 Khan is the worst scorecard i have come across for this fight so far.

The 113-112 Peterson card was bang on.

Khan was a fool to take the fight in D.C with 2 US judges & an incompetent hometown ref.

I had it 7-4-1 Khan, 114-112 after deductions. There were 2-3 close rounds so the scorecards werent the worst I've ever seen.

Well done to Peterson, I hope he enjoys his moment but I think the rematch may be very different.

Whole fight Peterson leading with his head, and the ref kept saying stop pulling his head Khan or fight out Khan, u never heard any warnings for Peterson ref only had what 36 championship fights?? takes another point in the 12th round of a close fight? Good effort by Peterson, but lets be real Khan picked him apart and Peterson dug with all them body shots and Khan ate them..Khan easily won that fight by 3 rounds

 

Chisora-Helenius and Lara-Williams were both far worse.

I actually had this 115-110 for Khan. Peterson put up a very good fight and worked very effectively on the inside. But lets take a look at the refs conduct in the fight:

1) He was constantly nagging like a woman
2) Peterson was leaning on Khan with his head therefore Khan was pushing him back both as bad as each other
3) Peterson constantly kept his head low and got warned many times but why was there not a point deduction for him?
4) Khan had his hands tied up at some points and the Ref says "fight on Khan" - fight with what?
5) For at least 70% of the fight all I heard from the Ref was "Khan fight on" even if Peterson was leaning on him on the ropes like a wrestler.
6) Ref had poor positioning all throughout the fight


Khan showed some weaknesses on the inside and the machismo didn't do him any good. We all know he can take a decent punch and has good endurance. Personally I think he made this fight harder for himself but I can understand the frustration he must have had with the constant nagging from the most incompetent ref boxing has seen for a while.
