He beat Julio Cesar Miranda by UD back in July and now stops Segura in 8...I can't think of anyone with 2 such solid results in the last 6 months, may Arce or Rios pips him, but he's in with a solid shout.

Doubt it but he could probably win upset of the year.

I think so. He was a huge underdog in both fights.

Im assuming they will give it to the winner of froch and ward which I could understand but if there is any controversy in thatthe fight thenthat it would be criminal to not give it to Viloria.

Peterson was a bigger upset TBH. Viloria has 2 great wins but sadly the lil guys get over-looked.

Considering viloria won by TKO and peterson won with the referee's help, i'll vote for viloria win over peterson.

People forget that viloria actually is very solid fundamentally and he has power in both hands.

He almost killed Contreras and it probably affected his subsequent performance. He simply did not have his killer instinct.

Nice to see he has his swagger back. You could actually see in the 7th and 8th that he was gunning for a KO.

It would be sick if he did.

    Ain't happening!!!

Coming above the weight does not cut it. Or in EZE's term, automatic catchweight.

He's definitely a top 5 candidate. Its great to see veterans like Viloria, Salido, Rubio, Arce, etc getting these great wins. Segura is a likeable fighter where he lacks in skill bigtime he replaces with tremendous punching power. Prior to the fight I told everyone not to overlook Viloria as I also said not to underestimate Lamont. Viloria would tend to get confused on whether he should box or fight. Last night tho he looked stronger than ever he should go for the kill from now on. If he keeps fighting this way I dont see anyone beating Viloria.
