Still struggling with comprehension, I see. He said he understood why but felt his legs got tangled with khan's.

I thought that Steve Collins and Barry were both very good. I really liked it when Steve Collins stopped the post mortem that was developing to point out that actually it was a very good fight, and that he was really excited by the prospect of a rematch.

I slightly disagreed with their reaction to the refs performance but what I liked is that they gave their honest opinion in an articulate analytical manner rather than the toe the line basic analysis you get from Sky. They also didn't fall into the trap of making out that defeat was a disaster, they didn't call in the riot act they were calm and called last night for what it was a good fight where Amir made mistakes that cost him.

I thought the referee did a good job. He allowed them to work out of clinches.and warned khan many times for his fouling.

We need more ref's like him, i love infighting it's a great to watch and makes fights entertaining. I wonder if Peterson's camp told ref about Khan pulling fighters in and pushing to avoid infighting.

Yup, this was my point earlier in the thread. It's refreshing to see a ref let them fight on the inside

Peterson was getting warned quite a lot for going in with his head but the ref never felt the need to deduct a point. And he was pushing his head into Khans face and leaning on him on the ropes..at one point Khan nearly fell back through the ropes. Forgive my ingorance but is that leaning on the opponent with the head in the face when on the ropes legal?

Apart from that it was a close fight and could of gone either way. Think Khan would get destroyed by Ortiz and other pressure fighters at WW if he doesnt find a way to handle them better.

Agreed. It's the inside fighters job to be effective on the inside. It's Khans job to move and not be on the inside. If he is on the inside, it's his job to neutralise the inside fighter in a way that will not get him told off by the ref.

Armed with a skill set of tactical spoiling on the inside rather than standing there with high held gloves, Khan would be a very very good fighter indeed.

    Just watched it:

    Khan 10-8
    Khan 10-9
    Peterson 10-9
    Peterson 10-9
    Khan 10-9
    Khan 10-9
    Peterson 10-8
    Peterson 10-9
    Peterson 10-9
    Khan 10-9
    Khan 10-9
    9-9

Think that adds to 113-112 to Khan but for all intents and purposes to me this fight was a draw: absolutely fantastic war. Gotta love both guys for bringing it. I actually though Khan looked brilliant at times offensively and with the right-hand but as seen before was poor on the inside and was shipping uppercuts and body shots all night. Peterson fought incredibly well though and was beating Khan up pretty bad in a couple of rounds (think it was round 8) and I don't begrudge him the decision.

As for the points deduction; although soft, Khan was certainly warned enough for me, the ref was constantly at him for it, I think it just looks worse that a point was taken in the last round in the other guy's backyard. Def wanna see a rematch!

Only just watched it(avoided the news all day). Good good fight and I always thought it would be. Since it was scheduled I've been looking forward to it and honestly couldn't comprehend the many on here who proffessed it was a fight without interest. What ever the outcome I knew Lamont'd give a good account of himself.

Loads of action, ebbs and flows, very close. a draw or a point either way and I'd a been happy - infact regardless of the decision i was happy just to watch it. Khan didn't get the decision - so what. Fans got to see a great fight. I'm really happy for Peterson, classy guy he deserves this, and I always enjoy watching him. Lot of good body work to.:happy
And hopefully they'll do it again- win win for us.

Paulie scored it to Khan on the old champion's preference, but then claimed it can be scored both ways. Muppet as usual!

Watched the American feed. Commentators didn't seem happy at all about the points being deducted for pushing.

Rewatch the second one it's a mess from a refereeing perspective.
