Which fighter is more skilled both offensively and defensively between the two?

I'd argue Khan has better punching technique, and Boxing fundementals.
Andre Dirrell has much better footwork and natrual athletic talent. I'd also argue that due to his ability to switch to a southpaw stance, he has more dimensions to his game than Amir.

Dirrell is more skilled, but I think Khan has more intangibles

    andre ward.

amir khan fights like pacman, he skill set is ok to me. i dont think he is the most skilled but he is no margarito either.just fast with decent pop, jmm is more skilled then him in every way shape form and fashion.

khan fights frantic and wild out times, 1 - 10 i give him a 7 on his skill set.direll a lil higher

    Dirrell. Khan fights somewhat amateurish.

Close, in the pros? Dirrel, but Khan was a brilliant, brilliant amateur himself... pros again though? Khan has much, much more heart

Dirrell made alot of amateur mistakes vs Froch. He shouldve trashed Froch. Instead tried to outpoint him for the first 9 rounds

He didn't try, he did outpoint Froch. **** he even rocked Froch a couple of times in that fight. Dirrell had Froch pissed because he wasn't landing. Yeah Dirrell made mistakes but not as much as Khan. Khan leaves himself exposed every time he throws because he comes in with his chin exposed. Basically Khan's whole style is to overwhelm his opponent. Jab, jump in with combos (leaving his chin exposed), gets out, repeat. That is all Khan does. They both have no inside game but I think Dirrell is the more skilled fighter. Khan has way more heart though.

Khan is very fast, but skill wise still looks very raw.

Dirrell's more skilled in an orthodox way. But Khan's a better fighter. He has a better sense of winning rounds and when to let his hands go and how much. And when he's in control enough to stop someone. Dirrell's got better single-punch technique and he's a lot smarter at placing single shots. He could use some of Khan's ability to fire them off in a burst, because it would make him seriously dangerous. Dirrell punches harder than he's given credit for. Dirrell has much better defense too.

You know the answer. It isn't all that close.

Andre is a full league above Amir in talent and ability. While Amir is also young and with plenty of time to improve he has looked worse (with more substantive deficiencies) in segments when facing Prescott, Maidana, and Peterson. Carl barely landed a single punch on Andre in their entire fight and you can count Abraham's landed punches on about three fingers.

Dirrell was still an immature boy (not even fully physically developed relative to where he will be in five years and not compared to the others in the super six tournament - even AW is farther along) barely 26 and he gave a peak Froch and tough Abraham hell. Too many have (wrongly) judged him without taking into account that this isn't a static product but merely a young one. Imagine a just turned 26 year old Froch fighting in his first major fight for a title on foreign territory against a veteran Dirrell - in his early 30s. Young Carl would have never been able to avoid getting hit and would have been carried out on a stretcher. There is no doubt that his management or Kessler's or Bute's, etc., etc. would have never considered such a matchup where they were the young pup putting it on the line against a peak veteran. Dirrell is on par with the divisions best and he is/was the least mature. He deserves some credit for his willingness to do what his counterparts (excluding Ward) in the tournament would have never considered. If he comes out of the Abraham cheap (late) shot okay he has ample upside as he will mature into a physically stronger man (than the 26 year old version) to go with his ample athleticism and speed.

Khan and Dirrell are more talented then skilled.

Now Ward that's someone who's skilled.
