I think Roach was telling him to do that. I seem to remember him trying but with little success. I give Peterson a lot of credit for the way he fought. I don't think anyone was expecting him to be so aggressive. It definitely worked in his favour. I also think his corner deserve credit for motivating him throughout the fight and pushing him on down the home straight.
I don't think he was in big trouble. He was down a couple of times but he was just stunned and looked like he lost his footing too. He did look a bit bewildered at the end of the first but Khan didn't really hurt him after that.
Didn't see it that way at all. He certainly was on top with fast straight punching catching Lamont as he backed up. But trouble? As in stoppage trouble? No. Neither of those first rnd kds were really legit or would have happened without some kind of leg/foot tangle. He did catch and wobble Peterson later in the fight 8 or 9 somewhere around there.
This will be a great great fight second time around. Peterson pissed all over Khan when he became acustomed to his speed. Which he will from the off this time. Khan will box more cautiously. It could be a bore, but will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Lamonts never had an easy career. Now, we couldve taken the path of some of the other fighters coming to get a title, old fighters thats going out the door or fighters that really shouldnt be licensed and get these guys titles. But, nah, we lay our heart on the line; we went out there and we fought. So now I think its time for us to think about Lamonts future as far as his daughter is concerned, Lamonts future as far as himself and his health. Its a business. Now, we gotta start looking at it that way. While many fans (and Khan and Golden Boy) may clamor for an immediate return bout, Peterson and his team will explore all their possibilities
I actually hope he does take an easy money-fight before giving Khan a shot at the belts. He deserves it after such a hard couple of years hes been given nothing. Khans in an awkward position without his titles. The only guys at 140 hed benefit from fighting are Peterson (obviously) and Bradley. But why would Bradley bother with him now hes a) got no belts and b) lost to a guy Timmy handled with fairly little fuss (though it was a competitive fight)? Either way, I think Khan needs a tune-up to work on some of the flaws he showed up against Peterson. Then take the rematch and then move to 147 if he must. Like Flea says though, hed be better at 140 where he has physical advantages.

He had him in more trouble in 10th, Peterson was pushed to floor on one of them knockdowns in round 1 and the other i need to see again he was far from 'in big trouble' IMO. I think that round showed him he had nothing to fear in Khan from then on he stepped to him.
Khan was too theatrical in his pushing making a big deal of it, as though he wanted the ref to stop Peterson putting his head in low. This may have annoyed the ref. A few sly shoves and pushes would not have been penalised.
I saw no significant use of the head from Lamont. Khan just didn't like him getting on his chest and working.
There's one instance where he grabs Peterson, holds his held down and then looks to ref like he's shitting himself. Khan didn't want anypart of the inside work from Peterson. Some of them bodyshots sounded savage..
