I just watched the fight and it was a very good fight which could have gone either way. I don't have any problem with the point deductions because Khan was fouling the whole damn fight pushing Petersons head down constantly when they were in close aswell as pushing him away with his hands constantly throughout the fight. The ref also gave him plenty of warnings before he decided to take points. I loved how Peterson was walking Khan down and ripping body shots and uppercuts it was great stuff. Neither guy has very good power at the elite level which will let them down over their careers.

Khan came across like a dickhead when Merchant was interviewing him after the fight claiming that he was robbed and thats what happens when you fight in Washington DC etc etc. ****in **** this is the reason a lot of people don't like him. Some of his running during the fight was quite laughable and I would bet big that Timothy Bradley would give him hell if they fight one day. Floyd would knock Khan out.

Khan seems to be a good fighter and was a worthy world champion. He has good boxing skills and is fast. But that KO few years ago shows he is no Mayweather. However he did well coming back from that, good managment but some good wins.

HOWEVER, Kahn was/is a hype job. Like I said, he is very good, but not great like he wasd being promoted.

I agree with everything you say other than do you believe his skills are good or does he just have ridiculous speed. I would say that Peterson has better boxing fundamentals however generally Khan can overwhelm fighters with his running and flashy punchers. If Khan has a very long career into his mid 30's expect to see him suffer some ko losses when his speed fades. He is a good fighter and a legit world champion calibre but as you say over hyped and can't see him ever being top 5/10 P4P.

Totally agree Francis. I would back Bradley to beat Khan also. Definitely a good flashy boxer with his speed but definitely not pound 4 pound. Came across like a sore loser sook post match. i see Freddie Roach is having a sad also. He was awfully quiet after Pacman got that gift last month. Bradley clear number 1 at 140 now.

Great fight but even with the iffy deductions I thought Khan won or maybe a draw. If Petersen had more power he would have put Khan to sleep when he trapped him on the ropes and landing those uppercuts. Expect Khan to win the rematch but I hadn't seen Lamont for ages when FNF were on friday nights here on ESPN. Looking forward to the rematch.

I like seeing a stern ref not afraid to enforce the rules. We are too use to seeing fighters get away with all this **** so when a ref gets serious, people think its an overreaction or unfair.

Khan had lots of warnings before the deductions took place. Blame himself, he was a dirty fighter and deserved it.

The 1st deduction i will cop, but the 2nd one given the fight was close and almost over was unnecessary.

What does the fight being close and almost over have to do with anything

If it warrants a deduction the ref should rule so

    If not

    dont

It has everything to do with it mate, unless the judge is on the pay roll

It didn't warrant a second point deduction

If you think it didn't warrant a second Point I cannot argue with that

    that is your opinion

I was just curious what the closeness of the fight and being near the end of the fight had to do with it

It either warranted a deduction or not

the closeness and time of the fight should have nothing to do with it
