It's still a big payday, I doubt Peterson is enough of a draw to attract other big names. The interest would be huge given that it was a close fight and given the controversy of the win.

If he wins, he solidifies his position as one of the best at 140 and gets a big payday.

The only reason Peterson shouldn't accept a rematch is if he's not confident he can win again. I guess the only question is if there'll be a tune up fight in between.

edit: naturally he's in a better position to get a good deal in the fight so he should rematch Khan and make sure he uses the position he's in wisely.

What is this stupid ****? are people forgetting it was Khan who was the champion who went over to his challengers hometown to give him a shot at the titles (how many champions do that???) and it was a very close fight so ofcourse Khan deserves a rematch and Peterson should give it him to. Doesn't matter if you think Khan was acting a ***** post fight, he was clearly bitter at his loss but it doesn't change the fact he was a champion who came to his challengers hometown to defend his own titles.

**** Khan. People trying to say he went to DC in Peterson's backyard and **** and is owed the same now in England for the rematch. Mother ****ers, he only went to DC because he's trying to establish his name in America. It ain't like he's some kind of generous saint to Peterson. **** Khan. Peterson's the champ now, and he calls the shots. Vegas makes sense, but **** it, even if Peterson wanted the rematch in DC again, so what? Now Khan would look like a complete dumbass for badmouthing the city. Probably get his ass kicked on the streets before the fight, too. **** him. Long live the Champ!

Exactly! Khan aint a PPV draw in his own country so he is trying to carve out a career in the US where the big money is. It suited him to fight in DC at a time that suoits American audiences.

Khan never gave Maidiana a rematch after a close fight that could have went either way.
eHe never gave Barrera a rematch after winning a cuts stoppage.
He never gave Prescott a rematch after he anhilated Khan in 45 seconds, but Khan went on to get the world title.

Peterson should only give him a rematch if it makes best financial sense.
Khan lost the fight through his own in ability to take a telling and preventing Peterson working by holding and pushing.

There is a strong sense that the Peterson fans fear a rematch and are already setting up their excuses if Peterson ducks khan.

No it doesn't Tyrone but anyone that doesn't want to see the rematch isn't a fan of the sport of boxing.

Khan brings a lot of money and profile to the table, more than the others. Peterson can cash in now, Oscar will pay him $1 million for the fight. If Peterson doesn't do a rematch now he might well lose to a no profile boxer lose the titles and his earning potential will drop again.
