I think Amir clearly won 5 rounds & Peterson won 4. There were 3 close rounds which you could score either way so I'm not crying robbery.

Ultimately an awful ref was the decisive difference in a very good fight which was a shame.

Fair enough mate, I felt the same way until I rewatched the fight sober and scored it properly. I can honestly only give Lamont 5 rounds at best :conf

What do you make of the point deduction in Dirrell -- Froch?

Dirrell was holding. On the other hand, as you know, Froch was repeatedly rabbit punching (for which he was warned many times), yet no point deduction. Would it be correct to say "Dirrell was jobbed"?

This is your chance to show your objectivity.

Dirrell is a fking disgrace to boxing. He was pissing himself and ran like a little girl the whole damn fight.

When Froch did get close to Dirrell, he would foul or go suck Froch dick.

Froch should have uppercutted the chunt but if you see how far Dirrell was putting his head down, I would have smacked him behind the head myself. Dirrell 'fought' like a little ***** the whole fight and should have been disqualify for not turning up in the fight.

Peterson only won 4 clear rounds max.

    Enough said.

Khan won a close fight in my view.

But I suppose you're under the impression that Khan's warp speed mad dash all over the ring, flailing about hysterically, helplessly covering up, and getting pounded with uppercuts through a comically porous shell defense was the picture of manliness.

    You are thoroughly delusional.

Jesus when well these people stop ****ing crying !!!! Kahn excuse for pushing is null and void .. He and peterson never even came close to head butting ,, Kahn has no inside fight game and pushed off every time peterson got with in 1 foot of swinging distance.. I re watched the fight peter head was never and issue against a guy speeding around the ring running .

Pacquiao, Pavlik and **** head alts defending Khan, coming in 3,4,2. For a white guy you sure love Pacquiao.

The ref taking points from Khan is the only problem I have with the fight. (Although Khan was guilty of the things he got docked for, and it was constant) I just don't think it's the kind of thing that should suddenly be enforced so strictly, especially late in a nip and tuck fight like that. (although, the point could and probably should have been taken for hitting Peterson on the break). I don't like when officials directly impose themselves in the outcomes of fights, save protecting a fighter, when it isn't something flagrant.

    I scored it 113-112 Peterson(including all deductions)as did 2 of the judges.

That being said, the deductions may have cost Khan the fight, but if you factor in the errantly called KD in round 1, a draw would have been the outcome, which would have seen Khan retaining his titles.

In that regard, yes, it is bad for boxing.

Actually, I didn't get to watch the Khan Patterson fight.

But what I can say is I can understand why Khan was running because he has no inside game and was trying to protect his chin. What he was not doing was running because he pissed his pants.

What I have read is that it was an exciting fight and despite all the running Khan suppose to have done. Unlike the Dirrell fight where he was running so much, there were barely any punches exchanged and Dirrell stunk the joint out. Big big difference there.

I actually agree with this, a draw would have been acceptable in a situation like this. Both guys put it all on the line and neither really deserved to lose.

Khan has himself to blame. The fight was close but he gave the referee a reason to take points.
I had it a one point edge for Peterson. Would not have complained with a draw.

No, he was running because Peterson's body attack was breaking him down. As far as I'm concerned, Khan has no more to prove regarding his chin. It is solid. He took some big shots off of both Peterson and Maidana and fought on.

As for Dirrell-Froch, I don't get the comparisons that keep getting brought up(not necessarily on this thread, there have been several). There are only superficial similarities. 1 being a US vs UK fight. But since it was brought up.....
Dirrell did indeed fight very negatively, held etc. It was painful, and he suffered the consequences. But Froch was dirty, even slammed the guy to the canvas........and nothing happened. That was a problem in my eyes.
