i think khan-bradley would be a close fight. bradley has the style to give khan problems alright. good worker bee. :yep but khan could have success on the outside with his speed. think i would make bradley a slight favourite. don't think he dominates khan though. :verysad
Considering Bradley is a better boxer, far more adept on the inside, stronger, more durable and faster than Peterson, how you've come to that conclusion puzzles me.
It's not that he made a mistake, it's that he's incapable. Did 'overlooking' Lamont cause these problems? If so, did he overlook all his opponent because they're issues that seem to spring up in every fight? -Hands move faster than feet. Leads to poor punching form (especially in combination) bad balance and lack of power -No inside fighting ability. Defence consists of holding hands up. Still porous. -Lack of functional movement. The modern misconception that 'good boxing' is staying well outside of punching range seems to be growing strong still. -Lack of adaptability. If things aren't going Amir's way he literally relies on athletic gifts. He just throws fast flurries to try and get anything off. No thought, no punch selection, just flashes of punches. It can snatch rounds, but once his opponent has got the measure of the shots he is fairly straightforward to track down. I don't see how overlooking Peterson caused these problems. And I can't see how focusing all his energies on beating Bradley will allow him to fix a lot of inherent flaws in his boxing makeup.
I will say that i think Khan got the best version of Peterson who was more seasoned and understood his identity as a fighter better. He was less likely to adjust back then and fought the wrong fight against Bradley, not listening to Hunter. Lamont really wasn't ready for the Bradley fight, not that it would've made a huge difference, but he was inexperienced. He went from fighting mediocre guys on FNF's to fighting such a well rounded fighter without getting used to the gap. You can see the improvements since then. The Lamont of that fight doesn't adjust against Ortiz. He also understands his body better now, he used to over train.
Yep 3 and half hour sessions containing everything, training like a AM fighter would bundling everything and anything in session.
I still the Peterson of the other night would lose handily to Bradley. Surprised Arum hasn't tried throwing $$$s at Peterson to rematch Bradley. Am I right in thinking there wasn't an immediate rematch clause but that the contract has now been signed?
Has Bradley said anything to media yet?, He's a knowledgeable guy although he will try get at Khan he's got a fantastic boxing brain.
