Wales vs Scotland @ 'The Mecca of Boxing' York Hall Bethnal Green. A war between two nations with rich boxing history meeting in a neutral venue but a venue that has seen some of the finest fights in domestic history. The York Hall will be rocking as both men bring a army of fans. This year the York Hall has seen Walsh-Appleby but could Selby-Simpson steal in and become the Domestic FOTY?.

Simpson and Selby's styles may well mesh into a special battle with Selby having a gunslinging style that smacks of arrogance as he counters shots using his height to avoid shots. Simpson a more balance and fundamental fighter who threw over a thousand punches against Martin Lindsay. Simpson is one of the true grinders of British Boxing, Selby has emerged from literally no where to shock the British scene with his sickening stoppage of Simpsons arch nemesis Stephen Smith.

Selby before Smith had only 2 title bouts compare this to Simpson who will be contesting his 7th straight title fight and his 15th in his career this is really a true youth vs experience match up.

    Introducing the fighters..

    The Challenger...

    John Simpson

    Record- 22-8-0

Titles Held- British Featherweight Champion x2
    Commonwealth Featherweight Champion

Simpson reminds me of T-101 in Terminator, just won't stop coming after you. Looks savage and cold in his demeanor. He's beaten world ranked Martin Lindsay. He's willing to leave his Scottish blood on the canvas in pursuit of victory. He's one of the finest warriors we have and fact he's on a mission of redemption to snatch his titles back. Selby may well regret his comments about Simpson'.

    Introducing The Champion!

    Lee Selby

    Record-11-1-0

Titles Held- Welsh Area Featherweight Champion
    Celtic Featherweight Champion
Current Reigning and Defending British and Commonwealth Champion

Selby's finish of Smith summed him up, Nasty! Doesn't have a care in the world looks to hurt fighters with every punch. Awkward fighter who could well reign for a long time if he gets past Simpson. He's gonna have to be prepared to go to hell and back Wednesday night. He's not short of confidence and maybe with a win on Wednesday night 2011 a star may of been born?. For me he'd be British Boxer of Year IMO.

Yeah i think it's gonna be close, Simpson will take a bit of time to get going but once he gets senses he should get foothold into fight and have good periods of success. Smith fought Selby all wrong. Simpson will be steady IMO, Selby's developing so he may be even better then last time. Intriguing battle..

I'm really up for this fight! :happy

I'm slightly concerned about the virus John had last month, he said he was very much weakened by it which is a worry. If he has fully recovered he should have the measure of Selby and can win with a few rounds to spare. Selby is strong and awkward though so you cant afford to have an off night against him like Smith did.

I really like John Simpson. Gutsy fighter who hasn't had the breaks. On form I'd give him the edge.

I hate anthems normally before fights, although i love ours and the Welsh anthem so Wednesday night i'd love to see it. That would get place rocking IMHO.

    Mand,

You're referring to the T-101 in 'The Terminator' and not John Connor. :-(

However, back on subject, Selby will stop Simpson late after boxing his head off for 80% of the fight. :yep
