i like Hopkins and all but i dont think that shoulder nonsense was that serious not to continue the fight. Dawson was underrated to begin with and Hopkins had been duckin him for a while. in the first round of the fight i think Hopkins felt his power and knew his slick tricks wouldnt have worked on dawson, he knew it wouldve be a long night. im not saying it was hopkins plan but i think he found an easy way out. Dawson has all the tools to beat him.

i think dawson would have won easily and gained alot of new fans after the victory but since the contreversial ending everyone has put the blame on dawson and hating on him as if he cant fight. if u want to blame anyone blame the ref or hopkins for ending the fight. anyway when it comes to the shoulder thing i think it was just one of hopkins point deduction or breather tricks that he has a history of doing and it backfired on him but unfortunately i think dawsons image was ruined badly after that fight for hopkins cowardliness. thats just my opinion tho.

Yes he did ..And considering Dawson stepped aside for Hopkins in order to make history is also jacked up in itself .

Chad dawson ruined then before when he was inactive lost to pascal and has a boring style and personality.
He probably cant even fill up a room in his hometown.

the pascal fight ended from a head butt. pascal was on his way to getting KOed or at least knocked down a couple of times to even out the fight. and yes i know his fanbase wasnt big to begin with. THATS MY POINT OF THIS THREAD. a legit victory over legendary hopkins would have gained him a more solid fanbase

If he was good enough and had enough "star quality" he wouldn't be relying on a fight with Hopkins at this stage of his career to make himself a star.
He hardly covered himself in glory or impressed the masses with his eloquence and media skills in the immediate aftermath either.
Even John Scully implied he was a moody ***** with an attitude problem before they kissed and made up.
Sorry,I agree he is a good fighter and my opinion is no more valid than yours but he killed off his own chances of becoming a star long before the Hopkins fight.

Oscar was a superstar though, dawson's best option was to dominate 175 and hope for a superstar to show up and beat him up.
Had he beaten hopkins people would have said bhop was old anyway and discredit his victory.

 lets look at mayweathers ability to fill up an arena before the DLH fight. now lets look at his ability to fill up an arena after ther DLH fight. ur opinion is not valid. once u beat a legend u BECOME a star.

He tried to get Hopkins in the ring for 3 yrs and bent over backwards for him while taking care of pretty much everyone there was to fight in the division ..So how is it that he just relied on Hopkins ? There wasn't anyone else to fight unless he moved to 168 .

I agree with the premise of the post, Hopkins ducked him forever, and then finally had to fight him and pulled that BS. It's funny how quick people forget how they got their break, and are so hesitant to return the favor. Dawson would have won the fight, no doubt in my mind, you can check my post history on that. Bottom line, Hopkins never wanted any part of Dawson and took the opportunity to slip out of the fight with him, and keep milking people of their money.

Try reading the post properly. It was purely in reply to the original statement. The thread reads "Hopkins ruined Dawson's chance etc"
I'm saying he would have been a star before Hopkins if he really deserved to be one.Do I need to spell the whole thing out to you?
Anyone with a basic grasp of reading would know what I meant.
He's hardly a stadium filler and has the crossover appeal of a wet cloth.
