So once Pac is exposed as an overrated hypejob the Phillipines jumps onto their next moderately successful athlete?

You guys should elect him to congress.

No. His parents lived near there fro 1985-1990. Mother had a complicated pregnancy and was advised to abort baby or else risk her life. She went to Makati Med. Ctr. (Manila) and delivered the future NFL star.

Since you brought grammar to this thread, I've always wondered...why is it spelled the way it is when Phillip has two ll's in it? Also, is it true to say that the Philippines was a spanish colony but didn't get a Spanish name? Phillip in Spanish is Felipe and Philippines in Spanish is Filipinas. I've always wondered if the spelling was changed after the Spanish were ousted.

So was the spelling changed? Or has it always been Philippines? Which is hard to believe it was during the Spanish colonization as the name bears no Spanish meaning.

    [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maldives[/ame]

The Maldives, also referred to as the Maldive Islands, is an [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_country"]island nation[/ame] in the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Ocean"]Indian Ocean[/ame] formed by a double chain of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atolls_of_the_Maldives"]twenty-six atolls[/ame] oriented north-south off [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India"]India[/ame]'s [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakshadweep"]Lakshadweep[/ame] islands, between [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minicoy_Island"]Minicoy Island[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chagos_Archipelago"]Chagos Archipelago[/ame]. It stands in the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laccadive_Sea"]Laccadive Sea[/ame], about 700 kilometres (430 mi) south-west of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka"]Sri Lanka[/ame] and 400 kilometres (250 mi) south-west of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India"]India[/ame]. During the colonial era, the Dutch referred to the country as "Maldivische Eilanden" in their documentation, while "Maldive Islands" is the anglicised version of the local name used by the British, which later came to be written "Maldives".

    btw.

no 'F' sound in the native language & spelling. Pilippines or Pilipinas or Pilipino.

The 'Ph' is the international spelling and 'F' for 'Filipino' is basically american.
