Barry has been involved in Boxing since he was very young

When with the Swans he trained with Johnny Lewis quite a lot

    He likes Boxing

    Watching and competing

He had an AFL career so couldn't do both

Now he has retired from AFL he can have a go at Boxing

Do not see what is wrong with a bloke who has always liked the sport to finally see where he stands in relation to other heavies in Aus having a go and finding out

I cannot see the reasoning behind him sitting back and doing nothing then in 10 years time wondering how he would have gone when it will be all too late

Darren Lockyer has signed with Nine to do the football next year

Hias he signed because he wants to stay around football

    Or for the money

    I would say both

    same with Barry

This has been my understanding for a while. His interest in boxing after his AFL career has hardly been a mystery. I dont see this circumstance as "the circus" rearing its ugly head again.

I'm finding hard to understand the people carrying on like the boxing industry is some sort of a cash cow that Barry's trying to get a slice of??
Surely even for someone who is already considered a sports celebrity, his earnings from boxing may be quite modest when you look at the big picture, esp when compared to his earnings playing AFL.

Spot on mate. Hall has been among the highest money earners playing Aussie Rules for years, and had another season of guaranteed income there for the taking in Melbourne or Sydney, whichever he wanted. Instead he's chosen to box. If anyone actually loves boxing and is doing it for the right reasons it's Hall :good

dunny bill is the main clown capable of joining.

Boganville (Perth) is where he'll draw the biggest crowd.

I reckon he'll pull a crowd anywhere....he is well known in all AFL states....he led Sydney to a premiership, get a decent crowd there easily.

Heard there is a press release coming from deMori that he is nominating for the next AFL draft.

Makes sense if Barry can take up boxing, that Mark can take up AFL. Mark could spray a mean torpedo back in under 15's, should be able to pick up where he left off like Barry can?

The only difference mate is that in AFL DeMori would be competing against the best in that sport whereas Barry will be competing against just about the worst possibly competitors in the sport of boxing. These blokes on here will lap it up though.

You thought Mark DeMori looked 'sexy as hell' in his purple robe and boa against Alexander. I guess you'd be favouring the purple strip of the Freo Dockers for Mark then?

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

I was working in Tassie only a couple of weeks ago and there were hand painted signs on the side of the road (in Burnie or launceston, can't remember which) letting people know there was a boxing card coming up soon :D :good
