Neither has any HW contender.

 

And unlike those other contenders he HAS actually proven his credentials in other weight classes

 

He's probably not even the best possible opponent from the Rocky movies.

 

If Tarver went up to heavyweight 5 years ago building up steadily I would have liked it.
Nowadays its just a pointless fight, with Tarver running away and preventing damage till Klitschko lands a right hand.

 

Povetkin and Haye have proven quite a lot more than Tarver at HW.

 

And have been easily handled in heavyweight title matches

 

And don't think for a second that Tarver won't land his share of hard left hands. Like i said before, Tarver might be 42 but the guy can box. He's a slick fighter and knows how to counter and set things up. Wlad might very well KO Tarver but Tarver will get in his shots.

 

Who are you talking about? Surely not Povetkin :yep Tarver would get handled by Haye and Povetkin.

Some people might be really desperate if they're looking forward to this.

 

I just think it's not much worse than any other midget sized HW fighting Wlad like Ibrag, Povetkin, Chambers. At least Tarver has some old school skills and will fight off the back foot. Will be boring as hell but i would really enjoy watchingTarver land some hard, flush left hands on Wlad.

 

I wouldn't enjoy watching a 43 year old Tarver moving up in weight to get knocked out against Wladimir in yet another joke of a heavyweight fight. It's best that the champions in the division just fight terrible contenders within the division.

 

Tarver is a C+ fighter. Winning some worthless CW strap from a C level fighter changes nothing.

Plus, Tarver would land nothing of significance against Wlad of today. Today's Wladimir Klitschko has an uncanny ability to avoid being hit with anything solid. Anyone not seeing the fight for the farce that it is would soon be enlightened after that fight took place. It's a mismatch. Wlad - Mormeck is bad enough as it is.
