he looks like a very good ontop fighter but when murphy was putting it on him he looked like he wanted his mummy

  2. This was my view too, albeit clouded by too many cans of Heineken.

The judges aren't going to score rounds for him fighting like that.

I don't rate Theophane at all.

    All hype and no substance.

Lol @ that "Hoodstar" bollocks as well! He's a grown man for **** sake..

Ash said to me before Murphy was named that if you could make the weight he would fight you.

Murphy was a nightmare waiting to happen, he prepared for a tall , back foot, leftie and got a short front foot orthodox. He was over confident and it almost blew up in his face, but he turned it round and stopped him.

Curtis is aggresive , but stylistically nothing like Murphy. And his tactics would be known before hand.

I think Ash would outbox Curtis clearly if not comfortably.

while i was watching the other night,i thought of curtis, not like that like:tdh:tdh, boxing, honest.
im not taken on ashley,if his time in the superduper USA has improved him,he must of been a bit shite before.he couldent keep a novice lightweight off him.

and this 'he prepared for a ect ect not a ect ect kinda boxer', he should be able to adapt if he is world level:deal

Not saying I disagree with any of this but aren't we forgetting something? Yes Murphy came in at short notice but so did Theophane. Murphy fights the same way regardless of the opponent, while Ashley had to face a short, non-stop orthodox brawler having prepared for a taller slick punch-picking southpaw. Hard to get two more different opponents. So perhaps we shouldn't judge him too harshly on that performance - he's done much better v Daws and world-class Garcia and Rodriguez. None of this means he'd beat Woodhouse of course
