"I'd certainly favour them both against Patterson."

But Patterson was in no way a dominant champion. The current situation is sort of like Liston retires in 1965, and Patterson becomes champ and is still champ in 1973. One would have to wonder.

And I might be missing something, but it is hard for me to see how Mormeck and Chisora can be held up as logical contenders.

    -That would be more hyperbole.

-I would challenge you to a fight..and probably kick your old ass. Than beat up Mendoza for the hell of it.

    :bbb

-But its clearly not true as you keep responding to me. So no fight...:-(

You would probably kick my old ass. 40 years ago, it might have been a different story.

You would not kick Mendoza's ass ,because he would not show up.

If I was a braggart, I might well say that I used to eat mouthy young ****s for breakfast, but thankfully I am a self effacing, modest old man, who would not dream of such braggadocio.

Did you like the literary allusion I added to my last post Rikki Tikki Tavi?

Sorry, I'm illiterate. I read this board through a complex system of image association.

Some one has just PM'd me that you are black.
If this is true, I take it back ,you couldn't beat my ass, old or not.
All blacks have a yellow streak, and don't like to be hit in the body.
There you go ,you wanted me banned, now you have a reason.:hi:

Good to see people know the difference between elusion and allusion. Strunk & White would be proud. Now be sure to omit needless words!

I don't understand the reference to Strunk and White.

Are they similar to Burke & Hare, Laurel & Hardy,Butch & Sundance?

I've been brushing up on it lately to improve my craft. It's an excellent book.

I don't read many living authors . Cormac McCarthy being an exception, but I know a bit about the craft ,if you know to what I am referring.
Or, should I make that alluding?

I fixed your punctuation. You're welcome. I think I can grasp your allusion (fancy). However, uhh, the book is older than dirt! Well, it's older than some dirt. Is there new dirt? Where does dirt come from? How do magnets work? Hell if I know... :think

I was very happy when I found The Elements Of Style. My happiness turned to dismay when I was told by friends that they had to read it in school. I had never even heard of it. I felt so short-changed

Education is a ****ing racket :verysad

Elusive ones that allude to ephemeral wraiths of eliptical, elegiacal, ethane, and ultimately extrinsic, exclamations that aspire to excelsior!

" God Bless Us Every One" ,said Tiny Tim.
