Mayweather sr: ''Amir Khan is tall for nothing, man. He has no jab. How a man that tall fighting at 140 pounds don't have a jab? His trainer don't know how to teach a jab. Name me one of Freddie Roache's Fighters that have a jab or defense.

Khan, Pacquiao, and Linares all have good defensive footwork.

Linares has a good jab, and Khan's is very good.

Linares and Khan have average head-movement, but Pacquiao's is pretty slippery.

Who else does Freddie train? Their biggest flaws are a lack of know-how on the inside (though we all know Linares would rather mix it up in-close than just shell up, don't we?)

    This.

A point about Khan's jab. When Khan uses his jab on the front foot, it is a very, very good jab, and can set up the shots that follow. On the back foot however, it is pretty much useless.

    Linares has a good jab

Other than him Pacquiao and Khan for the most part almost exclusively use their jab to set up something behind it, not to control the tempo or distance of the fight

Sr. is spot on with this one. Khan does give up his height just like Paul Williams does. Khan's best punch should be his jab and his opponents should have hell getting by it with his speed. The problem is he has bad foot work and would rather fight like Manny instead of using his gifts the right way.

**** if Khan could pivot to get away from opponents he would be better off.

****, missed that bit. Pacquiao has good defensive footwork at times, Linares also has when not under pressure. Whereas Khan, his footwork on a whole is terrible.

I hope you're joking referring to Khan's defensive footwork as good.

It is ****ing terrible. He spends half the time squared up and hopping about like a ******ed rabbit.

Roach's fighters defence is a solid basic guard and in and out movement, not really sophisticated. Khan has a solid jab

I'd add that Chavez jr. is making strides towards becoming a decent, rangy boxer with a good jab. Not saying he will be great, just that the changes he has shown for the past couple fights are signs of him being in the hands of a good trainer. Floyd sr. is obessed with Roach these days, it's pathetic.
