If Ward has world-class boxing skills, why does he need to resort to dirty tactics?

Ward is nothing like Roy Jones Jr when he was that age, that's for sure! He's more like an age 46 Hopkins.

It's pathetic for a young guy Ward's age to need to resort to using an old man's illegal tactics. :nono

Very highly. He's learned his craft and is part of a very select few of active fighters with HOF potential.

He takes care of the little details.

Although he has quite some skills (fast, good defence etc) he seems to rely too much on things that aren't allowed in boxing, while he doesn't need that to beat them.
The Green fight might have been the best example of that... I mean, it's freakin' Allen Green for crying out loud!!!
Would he have had more problems fighting within the rules? Probably.
Would he have won those fights fighting within the rules? Almost certainly.

Another thing about Ward is that no single punch of his stands out. He has a nice arsenal of punches and mixes it up pretty nicely, both to the body and the head. But he has a tendency to punch at the target instead of through it. A lot of times, it looks like he pushes his jab and right hands out instead of really getting his body into the shots and snapping them. I'd like to see a little bit more fluidity out of him offensively.

This might seem overly critical, but he's one of my favorites. Definitely somebody I'd classify as a very good all-around fighter.

    9.

But i think he will be a 10 very soon as he continues to polish his game. You know given his mental make up, he will leave no stone unturned.
