'If' he was better at this/that/the other? Problem is that he's *not* better than he is. You could talk about any boxer in the world with terms like these and say they'd beat mayweather if they were x, y and z. Hell, if I was x y and z I'd beat mayweather, but I've never boxed in my life. Silly thread.

Yes, Khan would be a better fighter if he improved his inside game (or to be more correct - if he had one!), but he'd be far from unstoppable.

And for crying out loud, Khan's jab isn't as good as you think it is! Sure, he has a good one, but the idiot doesn't even know how to use it, it seems.

Still waiting to hear how Khan improves his inside game given his body type, strenght or lack of, and his training.

Look I admire khan for taking on anybody even in their hometown, he isn't scared of losing. You can't hate khan for moving to 147 and fighting the best, win or lose. For khan a loss won't end his career because 1. He is too popular 2. His style is crowd pleasing 3. Has great Marketability. Even if his career is prematurely ended to whatever reason he has already made £20million over his career.

All of you Khan fans need to wake up! He isn't very good, and has never changed his amateur style of boxing. He can't fight inside, and if he hasn't learned at this stage, he never will. He has no defense, he's always reaching and off balance when he throws. There's too many bad tendencies that he will not be able to change. Plus, the guy has no chin. Maidana and Prescott already proved that. Peterson is a pillow puncher. He's fast, but no power. In a few words, Khan's big mouth will never back anything up. If he fights Peterson again, I guarantee that he will be beaten soundly. Peterson has grown in confidence, and he only gets better in rematches. Khan was nothing more than a big hype job. He's a fluke! And please don't bring up Floyd's name even though I can't stand him, but Khan would be killed if he fought him. Manny would put him in a coffin he they evr foguht. Bradley would KO him easily since Khan can fight a lick inside. Amir Khan is near the top of any division. He will end up exactly like Ricky Hatton. Too bad, another one bites the dust.

Ok. But what if Floyd improves his power? What if Rios or Maidana develops an outside game? You have to realize Khan isn't the only fighter who has the ability to improve. It's not impossible to beat Khan at his own game. Pac is arguably the best offensive fighter and even his offense can be nullified.

I don't hate on Khan, I don't care for his prissy attitude, but I don't dislike him as a boxer. And I do realize he went to Lamont's hometown, but as has been mentioned before, Lamont wasn't starving for that fight and he even turned it down previously to fight for lesser money. Khan for whatever reason WANTED to fight Lamont. Maybe it was to quote on quote, "clean out the division", which is admirable, or to compare himself to other recent lww's that have both fought Peterson (Bradley & Ortiz). Whatever the reason he does fight live fighters "mostly" and I do respect that.

On the other hand, I do not make him out to be more than he is.

Oh, and when I say loses on his record, I don't just mean paper loses, I mean brutal ko's that he probably won't recover from. I hope he saves and invests his money wisely.

Just when I thought you had started being reasonable in your assessments of Khan, Go Getta.

If Khan was so good at range, he would not allow anyone to close the distance to get on the inside. If he was so good at range, he would not be made to run away from an opponent. His flaws are quite clearly more than just his inside game.

Khan can not, and probably will never be able to compete with Mayweather, at any range. Peterson started timing Khan's great speed from the 3rd-4th round onward. Now put Mayweather in that same ring with him...:think

You nuthuggers are talking about a guy that couldn't even get past Lamont Peterson beating Mayweather?:rofl:patsch

Khan fights like a robot and an Amateur, has a Glass Jaw, has ZERO power, and literally turns his back and runs from his opponents. He is not a legit fighter.

If?? That's a whole lotta if.:deal If Pea Whitaker had one-shot KO power he'd be the greatest ever. If Julian Jackson had an ATG chin he'd be the greatest ever. If Hearns had an ATG chin he'd be the greatest ever. You see where I'm going with this?

To be fair, I think if Khan develops more of an inside game, he'll be an even bigger threat, although, it wouldn't be the strong point of his game either way.

The fact is, in the last fight, Peterson was the bigger strong man, and was going to get the best of Khan regardless of the situation; however, it would help Khan when he absolutely can't lose his legs to get out of the way.

****, it would definitely benefit his game, but maybe he just doesn't feel comfortable with his back against the ropes.

Ya'll got to realize that Peterson's size and strength played a significant role.

In my opinion, even Mayweather will be reluctant to choose opponents who have a size advantage over him and are known to be aggressive, because he looked awfully uncomfortable in there with Ortiz compared to how he usually looks.

Nobody wants to be in that type of situation, although those make for some of the best fights.
