Is it just me or does anyone else think that Froch looks in fabulous shape both physically and mentally? The pictures I've seen on the internet and the footage I've seen from the press conference gives me the impression that Froch is in the best shape of his life. I think the birth of his son is one of the reasons why he has gone on to the next level his discipline is even better than it was 18 months ago. People say being a dad is the making of someone and this could be the case with Froch. I can't get over how confident he was and relaxed he looked at the press conference whereas ward looked rattled and up tight. Come on Frochy!
Yeah saw a photo of him, he's always ripped but he looks strong,healthy and he has a real menacing swagger to him. He's gonna need to be on top form to win this so it's good signs.
Froch always looks in great shape, his shadow boxing always looks a mess, he never looks special in sparring, on the pads or on the bags. None of it means anything. If this was an amateur fight, Froch would probably lose every round. As a pro fight he may still lose every round but Froch has shown numerous times how important intangiables are and thats what I'm hoping on.
I'd be pleased to see him win 3 or 4 but Kessler, Abraham, Green, Miranda etc have struggled to win many. Ward actually works on his technique and skills. Froch is awkward and delusional, so I really hope that can get him further ahead in the fight.
Not sure about that. As said, Abraham won at least 3 or 4 rounds. Kessler got a couple despite being constantly headbutted. Even Sakio Bika should have had a few more rounds on the scorecards.
Maybe the first and I can't remember a single round after that. Ward might feel him out for the first 1 or 2 because of the occassion. I can see Froch winning some from a mental perspective. If Ward is fearless and comes right out and establishes himself, like he seemed to with Kessler then I'm not so sure.
I fully expect Ward to follow-through with the headbutt EVERY time he throws a punch from the outside. Froch should also! ......... I think Ward is gonna be wide-open to hooks and uppercuts and can see Froch leaning back and catching Ward from those awkward angles he likes to throw from.
My question is how many points will be deducted in this fight. i almost guarantee that Froch will get a point deducted. Seeing how he dealt with Dirrell I think he will be keen to match fire with fire however it will not be as subtle. I think it will be fascinating to see how the "dirty battle" will play out.
Uppercuts perhaps, although Froch's uppercut is kind of overrated at the top level. But Ward really doesn't get hit with any of that over the top stuff. He opens and turns the gloves to block. Ward is one guy you don't wanna be throwing looping hooks against.
I'm thinking Froch's mad posture and angles maybe suited to catching Ward when he leaps in with the head, which is quite often.
2010 ended great for British boxing!..... I've got a feeling 2011 could end in a very bad way, Khan, Haye and now Froch?
