Khan vs Peterson now the dust has settled. How did you really score the fight?

113-112 Peterson but I need to rewatch it as I feel I was a little generous towards Peterson.

Neither KD should have counted in rd 1. Peterson got tangled with the ref in 1 of them, and went over Khan's leg in the other via a push.

I had no real problems with the judging. I didn't like the ref taking the points, especially late in an obviously close fight.....not without an ultimatum anyway......

That being said, Khan's leaning on the head was pretty bad, but not mentioned.

    Round 01: Khan 10 - 8 Peterson
    Round 02: Khan 10 - 9 Peterson
    Round 03: Khan 9 - 10 Peterson
    Round 04: Khan 9 - 10 Peterson
    Round 05: Khan 10 - 9 Peterson
    Round 06: Khan 10 - 9 Peterson
    Round 07: Khan 8 - 10 Peterson
    Round 08: Khan 9 - 10 Peterson
    Round 09: Khan 10 - 9 Peterson
    Round 10: Khan 9 - 10 Peterson <--- Tough round
Round 11: Khan 10 - 9 Peterson <--- Khan ran for the last minute and a half
    Round 12: Khan 9 - 9 Peterson

    Khan 113 - 112 Peterson

A point to add: Sky Sport's Jimm Wyatt scored the last round 10 - 8 to Peterson saying that you cant have a point deduction and win the round giving a final score of 113 - 112 to Peterson. But all three judges scored the last round 9 - 9.

Had Sky Sports scored it 9 - 9, it would have been, 113 - 112 to Khan.

All in all, it was good to see ex - homeless Peterson get some money.

    113-112 Peterson

Scored it exactly the same as the sky team and was not impressed with Khan's work inside and on the back foot. He had his moments but was basically being stalked and bullied from round 3 on and never dictated the fight off of the back foot. I would not have a problem scoring the fight to khan without the deductions as it was really that close.

Khans leaning on the head wasnt good but Peterson was going down low and running the risk of coming up with his head. Peterson was also leaning on Khan alot and pushing with the inside of the glove

    You agreed with Sky's 10-8 12th round?

Even though Khan did run a few times, he threw and landed more punches and the harder punches. W/out the stupid point deductions he won by a few points. 7-5, with a knockdown.

If Peterson does fight from the first second the way he did in the middle of the fight on, he could beat Khan straight up in a rematch with a credible ref. Khan cleary does not know how to deal with guys that just brawl and press him.

    Exactly! :good

I gave Khan round 9 and round 12 (point deduction makes it even) with Peterson winning rounds 10 and 11. 113-112 Peterson

Basically, logical scores would typically range from 113-112 Peterson to 114-111 Khan.

Already commented on this in another thread, but I'll paste it here:

I think the key are those championship rounds.

Most people seem to agree on rounds 1 through 8. Khan wins rounds 1,2,5 and 6, Peterson wins rounds 3,4,7 and 8. Once we get past 8, we run into the main reason for the differing scorecards. Rounds 9, 10 and 11 depend on what you like more -- the fast guy who throws light flurries and is always on the defensive, or the slower guy who lands the more solid looking shots, who is always on the offensive. Those three rounds seem to account for the difficulty here.

For the record, I scored it for Khan, but I could see people scoring it for Peterson too.

Run a few times? He was in full retreat for long stretches. Even looked amateurish at times trying to get away from Peterson.

He may have thrown punches, and a few were very effective, most weren't landing with effect. In the 2nd half, he threw alot of slapping flurries, with much of it landing on Peteron's guard. Peterson definitely had the edge in that dept. ; Clean, effective punching.

He did run and when somebody does that its hard to give them the round, but most of the time he was just backing up countering. He landed the harder punches in the fight as well. Knocked him down rocked and shut his eye.

I do think from his retreat when Peterson pressed him, in the rematch Peterson could beat him straight up, b/c he just does not know how to deal with guys pressing him.
