Smoger - Margarito was gaining momentum in rd 9

They were already thinking of stopping the fight in the 8th round... Margo got his "one more round" in the 9th and did nothing but look desperate and amateurish. His punches had no real pop especially in the 9th round. The fact is, Margarito was saved from looking really foolish in the next few rounds.

For those saying Cotto looked relieved... Cotto looked let down by not being allowed to eventually break Margarito down in coming rounds and forcing a real stoppage mid action

****, all these so-called Margarito lovers would've been fine to see Margarito permanently blinded for some woulda-coulda-shoulda, hail mary, rocky punch Antonio was gonna supposedly land on Cotto in that 10th round, and Smogers b.s. comment just fuels this dumb ****.

Miguel wasn't even breathing hard at the end of the fight when he stared down Antonio. He had enough in his tank to crush that hole called Margarito's eye socket.

 

"He's mine, he's mine!"......Antonio Margarito shouting as he walked toward his corner at the end of round 9. Right then, the fight was stopped.:?

 

Thats exactly what i seen also in the 9th with a minute left he got hurt with three left hooks in a row.. and yes cottos legs looked way stronger the cheatos at that time.

honestly i wished it couldve went all 12 cus cheato might have gotten stopped imo...

 

Shouting "He's mine" does not make it a fact... He was in denial about his ability in the ring. Done.

 

This seems to like Smoger saving face. Didn't he have the last call as ref to stop the fight? Why is he acting like it was out of his hands? Ref was the only one allowed to stop that fought I thought, or are the rules different in NY?

 

Margarito needs to sit and talk with his own manager who went on record after the fight as saying "If Cotto looks as good as he looked against Margarito, I am certain he beats Manny.."

thats what the docs are there for, to determine the seriousness of the injury

would you want to be the guy that allowed the fight to go on against their orders only to end up with a blind man in the ring

Pretty much this...I agree with a previous poster saying that people see what they wanna, not to discredit Smoger, cos to me he is the best in the business BUT I didnt see any shift in momentum. Cotto didnt seem to fight scared to me, only smart. Each to their own I guess...
