But Smoger wasn't refereeing that fight, so it's pretty irrelevant.

If refs deducted points to the letter of the rules then most rounds would be scored around 3-2 under the 10 point must system.

Khan was silly not heeding the warnings but thats about it. I dunno whether this is one of those times where people don't like the fighter so their opinion is coloured by that but when a fighter loses a fight on deductions that have never been given in other fights then somethings up.

Why not just start by highlighting your true agenda instead of pretending to be a stickler for the rules.

Exactly. It's obvious the deduct points for pushing was pre-planned by the ref and possibly Petersons team after noticing it was a unconcious habit Khan has picked up. No way was Khan going to be able to break the habit during the fight regardless of any mentions.

It's hilarious how many posters are trying to justify it with the "rules is rules" argument. Lets see how strictly the rules are enforced from now on.

No, I dont have any agenda, I AM glad he lost, but my gripe is people still saying he should have won and that he was cheated. He was docked points for persistant fouling and rightly lost, end of story . Well done Peterson

I admire how shameless you are with your agenda, but what a load of utter ****. Facts are facts and Khan lost the points through his own idiocy. If someone says “Stop that” and you keep doing it with so little guile then you are just inviting a reprimand.

The reason Khan was pushing like that was because he couldn’t cope with Peterson on the inside. Peterson came in low because he was bobbing and weaving to get to the inside where he could control the fight.

You seem to expect Peterson to just have stood on the outside where Khan had all the advantages. No, he fought smart and adjusted. Something Khan was unable to do. If he’d been able to deal with the inside work he wouldn’t have been pushing and, if he hadn’t have been pushing, Peterson likely would have had more success.

Khan must've realised he was in with a biased ref and taken it into account. He didn't and through his own numptiness lost his title. Dosen't make the ref's performance any less corrupt of course but Khan gave him the opportunity to **** him over.

Nobody seems to be pointing out the difference between out right pushing / shoving with both hands that Khan was doing, and the blatant elbow / forearm he used when the point was deducted

If Khan had cut Peterson badly with that what would he say then?

    spot on mr taylor.

ive watched boxing for 30 years now,ive seen plenty of inside boxing,****,it was my game in the am's being a tad short for my weight:bbb
but lads in gyms should get taught to deal with it,turning them on the ropes or stand with them in the centre,a little tuck at your waist, turn your body so you are not square on also don't run backwards, for one,you are off balance when he catches you, khan dident know how to do any of them,im suprised roach, who, acording to everyone and his brother is the best trainer in the world:think

It might've been you or another poster who said imagine if it was Cotto who had the points deducted for pushing. Wonder if the reaction would have been the same? Or Erik Morales?

Then a deduction would've been reasonable. Also that kd in the first was bollocks. I don't have a problem with Peterson getting the nod as I prefer him as a fighter and think he'll beat Khan more convincingly in a rematch. I just have a problem with that ref. Honestly, does anyone want to see him officiate another fight again? Really?

****ing hell, ive seen pushing in a few fights, mostly out of anger when the other chap goes in with the head.
why the ****,when people complain about khan'getting jobbed' and others counter it by saying he was pushing, are they ****ing racists.

khan pushed all night, not cos of the other chap using his head, cos khan dident know how to deal with the bullying, its really simple ,he was blatently doing it IN FRONT OF THE REF,not even trying to hide it,now lets all get over it,admit he got beat, and move on

Most on here know better than Steve Smoger, so this ref who has been in countless world title fights should STFU..
