That annoyed the hell out of me! Once Jim Watt said this and Peterson had a bad first round Watt described it as a forgone conclusion that Peterson was sluggish and will lose the fight due to that extra 15 pound. Jim Watt in my opinion is an awful commentator

I've said this about Watt a million times.

He has a pre-formed opinion, then tried to manipulate the fight to suit his opinion rather than just commentating on what's happening.

I don't like it. The sky boys just make a point and then spend the rest of the night trying to prove that point.

i.e. Khan is just too quick for him, his opponent can't cope. There you go, see the speed again. And again, he just can't cope with Khans speed. Oh, that's a good shot he landed there, but he won't be able to keep it up, because Khan has too much speed.

When Peterson got knocked down in the first round, he actually landed a great left hook on Khan just before he went down, but the ****s didn't mention that, because it was in conflict with their main point which was: Barry and Steve were great though.

Barry is always worth having but Steve is great. The producers are always going to be nerivoous of what he says next and thats why you want to watch. Live tv should be live and its alive with Steve on the panel.

If they cut Steve's knackers off he will become a clone. If they leave his knackers on then he will remain a risk. That is a wonderful dilemma.

    Adios.

Yeah that's the thing with Watt. If has a point to make he will bemoan it over and over throughout the fight. At times I'm like...." we know Jim, we heard you there first 500 times you said it"

I thought Steve Collins did a good job on the Pacquiao Marquez fight on showtime also. He's not afraid to speak his mind. Can't see Sky keeping him for that very reason though!

You have to remember, these guys are people and they have certain traits that you or I have.

Watt will obviously say the same thing a few times (hes put on 15lbs), so will Nelson (bully him) etc etc, it's human nature.

I've never had a problem with Sky coverage - watching a fight on sky feels like such a bigger event than it does on Boxnation, it's pure quality, it's in HD, looks great, they have ex world champions, a top class presenter, they always show the walk ons, the interviews and provide a fair amount of build up - they show the weigh ins live for example (boxnation hint hint).

Adam Smith has done an exceptional job, especially when you compare it to boxnation, the stand alone subscription channel

Even though I'm always pretty critical of commentators in general, all of this is absolutely true. :deal

Sky do a great job. Their pundits just suck.

Only two people on that show are worth anything, Spencer Oliver & Ritchie Woodhall. Adam Smith is a good anchor man I guess, but the rest.........

If Sky had a full of panel of pundits like Woodhall & Spencer Oliver they would be doing much better, as they are not overly biased, and actually know what they're talking about.

Adam Smith has done a good job since taking over though imo. He's tried to do some positive stuff which has worked for the most part imo.

In some ways though that's what a pundit is there for, they give their opinion, you sit at home, nod in agreement or swear in disagreement.

I dont overly like McGuigan for example, as I always think he interrupts everyone, but it would be boring if I liked everyone on the show and agreed with everything they say.

No one begrudges that person having their opinion, but you hire a team of pundits who you perceive have something insightful and profound to say, not ones who regurgitate the same old cliches and have nothing more to say than......."its who wants it more"

I can understand that, but alteast when Barry speaks you know that's HIS opinion, that he aint trying to sugar coat anything. Barry is not a company man, he gives his own interpretation irrespective of whether it conflicts with what the network would like him to say, many of the others dont, or just dont have anything interesting to say.
