Nathan Cleverly might have something to say about that.

Even if he is a paper champion.

Way to keep up with the times discussing Haye's "recent" performance.

  5. No, it's just going through a transitional phase where up and comers are establishing themselves and some of those at the top are starting to fade. I think we will see a "changing of the guard" over the next 18-24 months. After this period fighters who are developing now i.e. Groves, Burns, Mitchell will get their opportunity to stake their claim, and fly the flag for britain.
Plus just because we have a couple of world champions, doesn't mean thiose fighters aren't still world level ability fighters. It's a knee jerk reaction to say it's dead, and the people who do, are the typical brits who don't see the positives.

Dead? Check stats on shows, fighters and amateurs. Attendance, TV hours and big fights involving British boxers. Dead? Stupid. More pro gyms now dedicated to pro fighters than at any point in last 40 years.

    ADIOS.

Also fighters from the British Isles have not got the verdicts in some very close fights
    Khan-Peterson
    Macklin-Sturm
    Murray-Sturm
We could quite easily got at least one of those decisions. Certainly if they were at home.
Also there was the Chisora-Helenius robbery to consider. That would've give a bit of a boost if the verdict hadn't been corrupt. Just a bit of bad luck wich will hopefully even itself out at some point.

I think its picked up a bit more recently...and that is to do with the upcomers who are showing potential...I just hope they can transition to become World champs.

    Bryn,
It's this fancy iPad number... I have no control. However, it is fitting.

    Adios.
