I'm glad people are seeing how special the things Ward does are. I remember the stick me and Mand use to take a couple of years back for defending him and calling him special.
He's looking at you with every pro-Froch post you make, bemused. Right now, as you're reading this, he's looking right at you, smiling at your apparent fury. You and Mand keep talking about fighters you've defended in the past, guys that I'd have done the exact same for if I had've been around. I must look like a self-sycophantic dick the amount of times I've said it to Mand.
Not trying to claim another fight as irish mand but isnt Ward's father of Irish origins? Or is that just bull**** fom the general forum?
I've been looking about for what McCracken's said about the fight and Ward as a fighter, but can't find much. Even the presser I caught they cut his section out. Shame, I'm just hoping he's seen a few things that Carl can exploit. Gotta say, Ward looks a quality fighter and I'm struggling trying to see what Carl can do except get his head boxed off while showing what a tough ****er he is. Hope I'm wrong though and I'm intrigued to see what McCracken's got Froch working on.
I watched that fight too. Ward is far from invinsible, Bika made the fight ugly and broke Wards rhythm. Ward also looked terribly sloppy and open at times against Kessler - plenty there to be exploited IMO
I think you're making a Dawson-esque mistake there, even though I do rate Ward. He's got some very nice attributes, but other than the Kessler fight he's look utterly uninspiring. He's still going to have too much for Froch though.
I think so too. He ought to have been able to get Green out of there IMO. Sometimes fighters are prone to coasting, when they ought to look to close the show.
I'm going against my head on this one and going with a Froch stoppage. I'm an optimist, and although I feel that Ward trumps Froch in the majority of departments that Froch will find a way to win, as he has done in the past, he is just a born winner. Believe people.
Yep i remember me and Slip talking Ward up, really impressed with him vs Miranda,Pudwill was a gimme but good display, Kessler and Green. Slip always called Ward a 'chameleon' inside the ring and he's right. So many different aspects to his game and skillset. I do however believe that my early prediction around 18-24 months ago has started to waver slightly after the 7/10 performances against AA and Bika i haven't been overly impressed with Ward. Maybe he needs this big fight to get him going but i also believe Froch has improved mentally and will present problems. I think people watching Kessler fight and do A beat B and B beat C isn't how it works as we all should know. Froch will provide a much stiffer test then Kessler who i believe struggled with everything in U.S. He also suited Ward he's upright fullguard, Froch punches from different angles, fights at different levels with head dipping, Long reach etc. It's still Ward as favorite IMO but Froch isn't gonna lay down and i think can really upset Ward who didn't like Bika at all (Who does ), i was rather disappointed with Kessler i think he needed that loss to shake him up. He seemed lifeless and sorta mentally gave in. Yes lot of it was Ward's good work but for a 'Viking Warrior' you expect a bit more drive. Will post keys to victory later, got some in mind. BTW i do rate Ward exceptionally but just wanted to say my views on him. I just haven't be in awe of him of late. Against Kessler and Green he was really ****ing good.
Yeah I agree, Kessler didn't so much give up but didn't know what to do and just got beat up. Reminded me of the first Mosley vs Wright fight.
