I know a top level fighter that had a 500 000 purse. in the end he walked away with 300 000/ Your not gonna make 150 000 on a million dollar purse unless your getting strong armed

than nobody would box. would you get punched in the face for 12 rounds and only get 30 % of your purse, come on....

look at guys like ward, direll or abraham, they have mansions, they have nice wipps, they live good, don't know if they could make all that with 30 % and they not even big stars like hopkins, klitsckos or marquez, not even talking about mayweather and pacquiao.

i dont understand you sentence. where is the logic.

    your fighter gets

    300 k from 500 k

and you say it is impossible to get more than

    150 k on a 1 million purse ???

Im basing it off of what a former belt holder told me bro who had no reason to lie. Me him an a small local pro were sitting down eating. My buddy asked my friend how much he made off the purse an he said 300 000. The fight purse was 500 000. He lived real good. Just one example. But I dont know know maybe in general with big promotion companies your right. Im no pro on the topic

I dont think your bullshitting. Yeah. He made about 8 defenses 2 non title defenses. His purse was listed in the papers as 500 000. my friend asked him his biggest purse an he said he cleared 300 000. my friend said he thought it was 500 000 an he said no in the end he cleared 300 000

Smart fighters have it setup that the promotor pays for the trainer/camp/other fees so they only pay tax from what remains.

Sadly most fighters get a purse then taxes take a cut and then the remaining stuff gets split.

Getting management that looks out for the fighter is sadly very rare but if they do set it up properly they can keep a big chunk.
The vast majority gets financially raped though.

    :patsch:lol:

He meant it's bull**** that they only get 40%, not that your answer was bull****.

Trainer fees are normally fixed, though. They're not gonna get a 10% stake of a $5m purse.

Its depends on the promoter but with taxes, promoter's cut, paying his

mangement team including his trainer, it depends on the purse two how

    much they bring home
