"Cotto has problems with pressure fighters"....is this statement still true???

hes not the same fighter. but backpedaling is brilliant against a guy like pac who cant fight when u go backwards

Yes, because his stamina still isn't great and he retreats/gives ground far too easily after the initial rounds. He doesn't turn fighters well, negate their best weapons, and limit their workrate. He's a mover who plants occasionally and runs to the next spot than a backfoot boxer with excellent ring control and generalship.

Defense still isn't great either, and it never will be.

Yes it's true, but it's nothing new, even when Cotto was at 140 he was having problems with high workrate fighters. Cotto is a very good boxer, but he does box at a very relaxed pace, and most of the time he's able to control the pace of fights because he's a talented boxer, but when opponents stick it on him, then yes he's normally in tough fights.

Margarito will always give cotto problems, and yes Margarito gave Cotto problems in the second fight aswell, but i'm glad Cotto wpn. If Cotto fights Pacquiao again, then the same will happen, he'll be out fought and punished.

Margarito was shot and had one eye, that didn't prove anything.

 

I think Cottos muscle recovery is lacking.

When he starts back pedalling, its like he's drained of power, as he was against Clottey. He just looks winded and his running looks bad, he'll make a comfortable area of canvas by pushing his opponent to the ropes or a corner, then he'll just back straight up to the other corner/ropes.
