Im not saying its in a bad state i am just wondering what u guys feel is hurting it the most i believe boxing is doing fine.
guys who issue multiple catchweights, rob their rival of a victory in the finale of an epic trilogy, make up PPV numbers, lie about wanting to make the fight the whole world wants to see, shoot up steroids in their free time, and refuse to drug test
It's all that. The "Big Name" fighters get into that big money and want every advantage in the world. Fights that the Public want badly don't get made because of some PPV rights or some ****. Too many snakes in the grass all worried that the piece of the pie they planned to steal wont be big enough, so they'll stall out a fight with their stingy asses, and really they ain't got **** to do with the actual fight.
I think PPV has hurt boxing to some degree. I tried to watch Cotto-Margarito 2 at a local Buffalo Wild Wings where they show some big fights (mostly MMA). To my surprise, the guy told me his manager decided not to buy the fight but gave me his name so I could go complain about it. Honestly though, I understand the manager's decision not to buy the PPV. A friend of mine said his bar gets charged $4,000 to air a big PPV fight like Pac-Cotto. Of course the bars would have to charge cover at the entrance just so they can make money or just break even. What if some non-boxing fan just wanted to eat and have a few drinks? Of course he's going to go somewhere else.

Funny how someone who fits that ***** description is becoming one of the best PPV sellers of all time. Very contradictory to what you claim is hurting boxing.
A few things, (In no particular order): * The lack of legitimate boxing standings, (How do I know who the number one contender is for all of the WBC, WBO, IBO...etc Federations) * Greedy promoters -I understand to a certain degree promoters want to protect the fighters that they have under contract but when it's to a point where Big fights aren't happening because of it- That hurts Boxing as a whole * Not enough free T.V. Boxing and too much P.P.V. I can understand that the Big fights are P.P.V. and even though P.P.V. is going up in my area I can go to a bar and watch the fight with friends but when MOST fights are on P.P.V. and when something unpredictible happens and the fight has to be stopped early. That hurts Boxing. * ONE undisputed Heavyweight champ, When I a kid I use to watch Ali fight and he was the Heavyweight champ, I watched Mike Tyson and he was the undisputed Heavyweight champ. Today there are two champions and they won't fight each other, I like to watch the Klits fight and I watch them but I would like to see one undisputed champ no matter where he is from. Here are a few to get started!
