Amir Khan was on skysports news today talking about his appeal to get his defeat against Peterson overturned. He said that pushing is not in the rule book and it's not a warning. This can't be true surely? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Pushing is not boxing. If someone can't close the distance because their opponent is pushing them away each time, you should be warned.

To answer your question, I don't know if it's in the rule book.

I can't say I've come full circle on this issue, as I still don't like the ieda that the ref took crucial points in a close fight, BUT, I do wish Khan would cut the bull****.

He pushed his opponent........alot. He also tried to make sweet love to his head and cold cocked on a break. Point is, he's kind of lucky only 2 points were taken.

Now, the ref may have been a little self important and it's possible he could have found another way to get his point across about the pushing, but, as a professional who's orders are not only being ignored repeatedly, but done so even after a point was taken......what is the ultimate remedy? He did issue a "last warning" before the 1st deduction(although, it wasn't quite definitive enough).

Bottom line, Khan and co. need to stop the nonsense and be accountable.

It depends. Leaning on someone isn't boxing either. Holding and hitting, etc.

:good hey nice link! Look what I found right under that one.

You can't hold your opponent and hit him at the same time, or duck so low that your head is below your opponent's belt line.

HMMMMM.... anyone come to mind? :D

    :rofl :rofl:rofl Nice!!!!

I was thinking more on the lines of a fighter that would actually benifit in employing that move in a fight and get away with it.
