Egan was fair but them cuts could play a big part in the National showdown with Ward.

Con did better and at home it might be a win-still think WSB is a great move for him.

Couldn't agree more Moorser! I thought he was brilliant and he was definitely adapting as a senior. People might forget that he only lost by one point to michael conlon in last years seniors. I know Conlon has improved a lot since then with all the experience he has had, but I think it's definitely a pity burnett didnt stay amateur for another while...could have won big medals down the line. Anyone know anything about declan milligan? beat conlon in last years ulster senior final. I know conlon was meant to be robbed, but milligan can't be bad!!

Burnett is a class act and one of Irelands undiscovered jems but with 5 euro places left you have to back Paddy to qualify for London at 49 kilos with 51 and 56 gone the lad has nowhere to go unless he waits till 2016 and for a very talented young lad that is a lifetime i am sure.Good luck to the young lad...

Fair point puca but i would have liked to see him have a go at 49kg....even just for next years seniors. 4 years seems like a long time but he'd stil only be 23 come the olympics in Brazil. As you say though, best of luck to him....i sure hope he made the right choice cos he is quality! Any idea wats da story with milligan?? Someone like Ardy might have a better idea?

Burnett would have a real chance with Paddy but not sure if he can still make the weight. Don't know about Millegan but seen the fight on utube or somewhere and was skeptical about the "robbery" until I watched-probably the worst unintentional(I hope) decision I ever seen. All 5 judges gave it to Conlon under the old scoring system but the computer picked it up as a win for Milligan who BTW is good.
That was the fight that convinced me that Conlon was a star in the making.

Nevin boxing in the WSB to-night against the guy that beat DOJ recently. Fight at 61 kg so hope (1) not too heavy for JJN and
    (2) that he doesnt end up battling weight in London as his form has really improved since he got out of 54.
