Yep. We could have had a unification tourney. Instead, if Bradley (for arguments sake) beats the current WBC, IBF and WBA title holders in his next 2 fight there's a real possibility he might only end up with one belt. 2 max. And we'll most likely have 3 'world champions':huh
who gives a **** about belts its the fighters fightin the best fights thats the most important if khan maidana fights alexander bradley winner we have the ring belt champ which is the real deal in my eyes
Thats how its looking. Mabuza might be awarded the belt before then though and may be the "defending champion". :dead
Fleaman you know my boy is far from average. Average fighters dont ravage bigger men and remain undefeated winning every professional title open to him.
For the avoidance of doubt my preference is for Ajose to take the WBC title off Alexander or Bradley however if Chebah does not happen will be happy to fight McCloskey whom I have always had a high regard for.
Inactivity has not been the plan but so many fights have been called off over the years. Even the WBC mandatory should have happened over a year ago but fighters keep pulling out before our fights having signed contracts. Full credit to Ajose though stays in shape and continues to win. We have tried to fight Alexander as a voluntary but Don King refused.
Will update accordingly once promoter confirms new date. Frankly sick of buying tickets to places only for fights to be cancelled. Would love it to be brought to the UK.
Update Smoking Joe Ajose Olusegun the Gun at the WBC Convention Day 4: Erik Morales is slated to defend against #2 rated Danny Garcia on January 28th. #1 ranked mandatory challenger Ajose Olusegun took to the microphone to make his own case. “Mr. President, I want to say that I fought a final eliminator against Ali Chebah and won a unanimous decision. Two weeks later, Erik Morales, who is a legend, won the vacant title against a guy who wasn’t even ranked in the top 15. Morales got that title shot after losing a title fight for another organization. I have paid my sanctioning fees, I have been waiting for my shot. Morales is a rich man, I am not! I need to feed my kids!” The room erupted into applause in support of Olusegun’s well versed plea. A motion was made, seconded and passed that Ajose Olusegun will met the winner of the January 28th fight.
good for ajose, but what a bunch of ****ing disgraceful mafia like people the WBC are.....he has to plead his case and gets it? What about their 'rules'? They are one of the main causes of mainstream sports people not taking boxing seriously
Nice one, about time he got a shot at it, the WBC are becoming absolutely ridiculous...I wish Ajose all the best in his upcoming fight!
