Bogotozo says that Mayweather cant take away punching angles? Yet in these clips Marquez and Baldomir are completely turned around and unless they have arms that grow out of their back, completely useless offensively. :huh

In the pocket - Mayweather, by quite a margin.
Lateral movement - Both use it, Marquez uses it more, and IMO, more effectively. He employs it great against Pacquiao.

You think Juan Diaz lays a hand on 135 Mayweather? You think Juan Marquez beats Corrales and Castillo with nothing more then a jab and a check hook like Mayweather did at Lightweight and SFW?

Watch the videos then reexamine your opinion. Pacquiao cant cut off the ring. Mosley was able to keep distance laterally.

Ur a dam moron. Ur still clinging to this ****? Let it go already.

All he's sying is that Marqeuz and Floyd move differently and create defense differently. Marquez uses a lot more lateral movement, and constant movement. Floyds movement is more 'stop and go' , i.e. he plants his feet , then he moves, plants his feet, then he moves. Marquez moves constantly in a RHYTHM. Marquez style is more diffificult for Pacquiao .. that's the only reason your so butthurt over this.

And to answer the question, I'd say Floyd is better in the pocket then JMM (at least in not getting hit), althogh they are very DIFFERENT. JMM throws a huge variety of punches on defense - uppercuts, hooks, straights, body shots, all in combiations. Floyd generally just relies on that shoulder roll and will counter with right hand or a hook.

I don't need to rewatch the videos. Mayweather and Marquez are fairly different in how they set up punches, and how they counter. Marquez uses a great deal of lateral movement to set up his punches once he gets going. Whereas Mayweather can wait for his opponent to throw, make them miss (whilst pulling backward) then get a counter off, using his momentum to avoid the second shot, and get out the way laterally.

Mayweather uses lateral movement when he wants to as a defense. Marquez uses it a great deal to set up his shots. That's what I see anyway.

It's not about who gets hit more, like I said, they use it differently.

    I'm off to boxing anyway.

They do but as for the bolded I disagree, I think Floyd is more difficult for Pacquaio, he has less openings, is harder to hit, has longer range, is quicker

Floyd is too cagey / mechanical on defense to give Pac the same type of trouble Marqeuz does. It's Floyd reach / size that will give him the bigger advantage.

But Marquez lateral, upper body movement and rythm on defense is what throws Pacquaio off, and Floyd doesnt fight like that. He's a striaght line fighter who plants his feet and and fights in the pocket a lot more and itll give Pac a lot more chances to get off punces then he did against Marquez.

So all of a sudden Marquez is a good defensive fighter,, when he makes Manny looks bad, but when this dude gets scraped up and knock down against c level fighters, people have nothing to say

This. If you can't see that then you're biased as ****. Floyd's few glaring flaws is that he backs up in straight lines most of the time. Which is why he finds himself on the ropes quite a few times trying to parry shots. Which is also why a good jab is required to beat Floyd.

The majority of Floyd's lighter weight career was fought in the pocket. He is PHENOMENAL in the pocket, but he sparringly uses lateral movement. JMM uses it as a bread and butter technique period. He uses it against pretty much everyone and to GREAT success.

Pacquiao will get eaten alive if he fights Mayweather. He doesn't have the size dimensions or physical strength to beat Mayweather. Straight rights, jabs, uppercuts on the inside and check hooks will be the tell tale punches of their fight. Pacquiao will hardly land ****.

I didn't remember the Baldomir fight being as entertaining when it happened, as it was just watching it now.
