marquez's only real defensive prowess comes from his great counterpunching. he stifles all of his opponent's advances with it, so they become very tentative. even pac has succumbed to this. mayweather has the great counterpunching, plus incredible elusiveness.

 

Mayweather was 24 years old and injured. You had to go back a decade to find someone to expose Floyds "Robotic" Style.

Jmm is a great counter puncher with very good defense. Floyd is a great counterpuncher with great defense. For the most part Juan punches in combinations while Floyd rarely does, but is alot faster and they about the same as accurate. Juan rarely fights off the backfoot Floyd always does.
