How would you describe Andre Ward's Boxing Style?

:yep it's hard to put a finger on what his style is. He's what I describe as a very good all around fighter. Really isn't great at any one thing in my estimation, but he's very good and competent at every single aspect of the sport...and that's a tough thing to deal with when you combine it with his boxing brain and understanding of what he needs to do to win.

Now that I think about it, I could copy and paste that into a Bradley fight and it would work just as well.

 

"Intelligent". It wasn't on the list, so I didn't vote. He can box on the outside or take it to the inside. He just does what is best in his estimation to win the particular fight.

 

The fact that Ward has so many votes in so many different categories demonstrates what a chameleon he is in adapting to situations.

 

I agree, what I'm hoping is that he will 'revert to type' when pushed.
When Froch puts the preassure on Ward we'll see what he's really like. He may get on his bike, or he may stand and go for it, it's exciting because that's the question mark going into this fight.

 

His style is; If you make a mistake, you must pay.

- can't blame the guy, but I sure hope Froch takes him out.

All the above. He can fight on the inside, at long range, he can counter punch and fight off the back foot, and he can also be slick as hell.

 

I would describe it as ****ing boring.

 

He doesn't have one particular style. If there was a word I'd use to describe it, it's "intelligent" or "versatile". He changes the way he fights for each fight though, and sometimes he changes two or three times during the course of the same fight.

A long time ago I did a writeup of him when he was a prospect and said I thought he'd be good, but that Dirrell would end up being better, and that he'd max out at being a lower tier titlist, top 5 in the division type. What I didn't realize at that time is that, other than maybe Bernard Hopkins, he has better ring intelligence than any fighter in the last 30 or so years.
