It's too bad some agreement between Golden Boy and Top Rank can't be struck so they could have the May 5 card be headlined by some combination of Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, and Cotto fighting each other in the two headlining bouts with the winners then signed to face off in September 2011. That would spell huge buyrates and lots of money for all involved.

I don't know who Mayweather fights next, but I doubt it's Canelo (because I don't think Golden Boy wants to risk him picking up a loss and endangering his future earning power this early on his career), Martinez, or Guerrero. If someone had a gun to my head, I'd probably say Cotto is next, because Arum probably isn't as unwilling to let Cotto fight Mayweather as he would be with Pacquiao, because Cotto has already let it be known he will be retiring after a few more fights anyway, so he has less to lose from Cotto fighting Mayweather than Pacquiao fighting him.

Cotto already has recent losses, so it's not like there's a lot of mainstream marketability at stake for him if he loses (unlike Pacquiao, who's golden wagon train would lose speed if he picked up a loss after 6 undefeated years), and if he wins, Arum gets to stage Pacquiao-Cotto II and make loads of money. So I think Arum eventually lets Cotto fight Mayweather.

At 147, probably not. If it's at 154 though its more competitive. Also, I was speculating about Arum's thought process, not the actual competitiveness of Cotto-Floyd. Floyd would most likely win a UD, but it won't be a shutout.
