Hope he impresses and gets some confidence out of it. It beggars belief he hasn't mixed it in higher company yet, am I missing something? :huh

He didn't do himself any favours with calling Khan out. But mostly it's because, as always, a few posters go over the top about his prospects and other posters get annoyed, etc.

 

I haven't seen anybody here overrate him recently to be honest. He seems like a British version of Chavez Jr, an awful lot of hate for no real reason(that I now of that is, perhaps there's a good reason for the Brook dislike, I don't tolerate JCC Jr hate :nono). For whats it's worth he was excellent against a good fighter in Jackiewicz, and that's been a criminally underrated display 'round here.

 

I think Kell's decent, he may get better with level of opposition i really like way he jabs. He's sorta like Eubank (you know which one! ) with it, it's a real hurtful punch and he has classy moments. I see what Dftaylor means about calling Khan out. I don't blame him he fancies his chances against Khan plus Khan's been doing it his whole career.

I hope he does a job tonight and looks the part, could well be a world champion in 2012. Believe his next fight is a world title fight? may be wrong..

I see the dislike for Junior. He should have fought Martinez a long time ago. He should be fighting him next. He's not though, Jr's probably going to be fighting Rubio who really isn't very good. Chavez's handlers are terrified of letting Martinez get at him, so they avoid that fight at all costs. Is that any reason to hate Chavez? Probably not. But when a fighter isn't fighting the guy he should be fighting, he's going to get some of the blame no matter who's at fault.

Brook doesn't warrant the dislike he gets as far as I'm concerned. He's always been disliked on this forum though, and I've never been sure why.

 

I just see him as a glorified prospect. That's what he is as far as I'm concerned, just a prospect who's handlers have worked into the position of gaining a bogus ''title'' that's landed him in the unfortunate predictiment of being told he has to fight Martinez.

Anyhow, that's not even where the criticism stems from with the vast majority, from what I've seen. Most seem to look at his name, the number of fights he's had, and bombard him for not being a brilliant fighter. As far as I'm concerned he's doing a pretty good job thus far, there was no point in him stepping up to the highest level when he was 21-22 as most seemed to be calling for.

In reality he shouldn't even be facing Martinez, because he shouldn't be a ''champion''. I take him for what he is, an improving fighter who's currently fringe world level at best. In that case, Rubio's a decent fight for him IMO and is continuing on with the gradual step up in talent he's taking on each fight.

 

canelo gets props for beating **** fighters but chavez is shitted on for it.

 

Yeah i've noticed that, i rather watch Chavez fights then Canelo. Least there somewhat exciting.

When the WBC took Martinez's title and gave it to Chavez, they started some beef. That title belongs to Sergio Martinez, he never rightfully lost it, it was taken from him and he has every right to fight for it back. In that sense, Chavez Jr should be fighting Martinez. Though I agree that it would not be a wise move at all for Chavez to fight Martinez, he has a title that Martinez has every right to try and reclaim, so as long as he holds that belt, he should be inclined to fight Martinez IMO.

 

Kell wins in an average fight, on points.
