Since Mikkel discussed the issues with the Ward fight I feel that a certain crowd has been totally disrespectful to him.

Mikkel discussed the distractions and problems he had to go through before and during the fight with Andre Ward.

He was being clear and direct with his words, with no direct malice to Ward.

Lets remember this wasnt his biggest fight , the biggest fight in 168lbs recent history was Calzaghe vs Kessler , and this was in Wales UK . Kessler fought away from home with similar disadvantages in support , ref and Judges. Yet he was treated with respect and was beaten fairly , this is why you will never hear Kessler discussing this fight in a negative manner.

From all accounts Kessler was treated with no respect in Oakland and all he has done is confirm this.

The man has fought on three continents is a very good champion , and its just not his style to complain, all he did was tell what happend.

    peace.

    Ward outboxed him, easily.

    Get over it.

Then why did we not hear any excused in the biggest fight of his career?

Its not his way, unless actual events disrupted his performance.

Kessler can't accept the fact that he was dominated and made to look average at best, after being the favorite, having the most experience and also being champion expectations were high so of course he has a million excuses, the headbutts unfortunately gave him something to blame this loss on but without the butts he was still getting the dog **** beat out of him...

Mikkel is bitter and instead of crying about what happen two years ago he should get back in the ring and earn himself a shot at the champion that is Andre Ward, I would love to see him thoroughly spanked again...

Did he use that as an excuse?

I think he pointed out that the hand was broken during the bout , but did he note anything that Joe or the promoters did to stop him fighting his fight?

    i dont think so.

He's just making sure Froch is aware and Ward doesnt get an advantage.

Which is fair play in my book.

Kessler is right to point out the bs. he had to go through right before the fight. That stuff is unacceptable and shouldn't happen to any fighter. That doesn't mean he would have won the fight if it hadn't happened, but he's got every reason to be angry about it. And about that headbutt which really should have been punished.

Mikkel Kessler is/was a B fighter from a Boxing nation that's basically irrelevant at the highest level...he never had a chance against an American of Ward's caliber...which was only "green and up 'n' coming" at the time...

Everyone should have known this before they fought...he wasn't ready for "Big Time Boxing".

I think he's being disrespected because the guy he beated (Froch) is now considered better than him. I think it is because Kessler lost to Ward and people hope that Froch can beat SOG... If Froch lose tonight, I think we'll see many Froch vs Kessler thread tomorrow.

I think that Kessler is a bit better than Froch, but the Englishman will perform better against Ward. Froch is more unothodox and can fight in more styles of fight and make adjustments. Kessler is simply a better boxer who'll perform better in brawls or classic 1-2 exhibitions.

The way Kessler, as a champion, was treated in Oakland don't belong in this sport!

    that match smells rotten...

Ward should give Kessler a rematch in Denmark with 3 danish judges and a danish reff!

hope that "son of a *****" will get KO'D by Froch

I'm a big Kessler fan, but he's not the fighter he was before Calzaghe, and he got spanked by Ward. Yes, the headbutts were heinous and there might have been consequences for Ward had it not been fought in Oakland, but Kessler was outclassed. Period. And I think he'd be outclassed in a second fight. Also, I'm very suspect about the 'eye injury'. He has double-vision but he's behind the wheel of a car on Showtime? I don't think so.

Kessler is straight up and does deserve respect. I believe what he says about what happened pre-fight with Ward as I do not see him as a liar. It has been 2 years ffs.
