I'm asking, because the S6 rules mandate a 20 foot ring. Yet, in the Ward-Kessler fight it was only 18' which clearly favored Ward's style. I'm wondering if, besides having an American ref, the will break the rules again regarding the ring size? (I'm also wondering if Smoger will let Ward again get away with low blows, but that's a topic for another thread.)
I think Ward is probably the most least affected fighter when it comes to the issue of ring size. He's adaptable, and can fight pretty much fight anywhere/way.
- That's because we're preparing for the inevitable home-town decision. - But it remains a fact that the rules were broken, and probaby will be again tonight. -And Uncle Rico, what are you smoking? Froch's only chance to win is by a KO from the outside. A smaller ring, if they have one tonight despite the S6 rules, will VASTLY favor Ward.
A smaller ring will favour the better inside fighter - Ward A bigger ring will favour the better outside fighter - Ward That being said, Froch by late TKO.
Even if Carl keeps the fight on the outside in a larger ring, Ward will still get the better of him. He's quicker, has better footwork, better defence, faster hands, etc.
!8 foot ring favored Ward? Ward started the fight off as the outboxer. Only when he realized Kessler wasnt **** did he move the fight inside.
I'm pretty sure Kessler agreed to the smaller ring. No rules were broken. Also, who cares about Froch and Ward. How does this affect Special K?
Sometimes boxing is not about who is better technically. Hope Froch wins. He will not wiggle around, so we could expect fight with Bute and rematch with Kessler.
